I guess the good news in drafting Bradley at No. 7 is you're already obligated to bring 7 figures to the table. It's not like you're expecting to get a player on the cheap with that pick.
His first love is baseball so if they give him the right offer he will sign.
To the relief of scouts, Bauer has toned down his wacky antics in 2011. Serious and focused, Bauer has enjoyed a phenomenal 2011 campaign, leading the nation in strikeouts and recording eye-popping numbers in all other categories. Bauer features a rising 93-95 fastball and a near "12-to-6" old fashioned curve. Bauer does not have the same confidence in his 83 slider, 87 split or sideways 86 change, but they project as excellent big leagues pitches as well. Scouts are concerned with Bauer's violent, maximum effort delivery, which may lead to a physical breakdown in the future.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...aft.tracker/index.html?sct=hp_t2_a3&eref=sihpA top notch quarterback prospect who has signed with Oklahoma, Bradley was impressive at last summer?s Aflac All American game in San Diego. He breezed through two perfect innings, striking out four of the six hitters he faced. Physically imposing at 6?4? and 225 pounds, Bradley fires a mid 90?s fastball and adds a nasty low 80?s breaking ball. Bradley is relatively sound mechanically and, unlike most high school pitchers, does a nice job of finishing his delivery. Industry insiders claim Bradley will ask for a hefty, if not record, signing bonus.
Wow. Major risk. Archie Bradley? I guess it was the BPA approach. I hope they have some money to throw at him.
I would not rush Bauer up this year due to how many pitches he threw this year.
It's not a risk because the Diamondbacks have already spoken to him and they will sign him. You can bank on it. I love the two picks. I would not rush Bauer up this year due to how many pitches he threw this year.
At #43 the Dbacks go with a lefty pitcher coming off of Tommy John Surgery...
Was ranked #48 on ESPN 100, touched 95 earlier this year after the surgery but doesn't really have a 2nd oitch outside of his 91-94 MPH fastball...
If he really is healthy it is a solid pick, but again like the previous two, a bit risky..
If you have ESPN Insider the article on Bauer is amazing to read.

I feel like we are going to regret not drafting Rendon.
with the 3rd pick in the 2nd round the Dbacks got an absolute STEAL..
Anthony Meo, a RHP, with 2 plus pitches, including a 95 MPH fastball and a pretty good breaking slider that has late break....
He was #19 on the ESPN 100, while some think he could be an elite reliever, others project him as a #2-3 starter...
Either way at #63 overall, GREAT pick..
