I hope that's exactly how it plays out

I could live with Cards getting Lamar Jackson.Reading the Mocks most choices seem to be realistic.
Te top 6 QBs all go to teams wanting to upgrade and develop QBOF.The RD 2 picks are pretty good with Buffalo getting Mike White and Pitt getting Lauletta-both di well in Senior Bowl week.
RD3 guys all are guys to develop and NE picks a big arm big QB to groom.I can see the reasoning behind these picks.Pretty good mocks IMHO.

The only QB that I can't stand in this draft is Jackson and that's who they have us getting. That might actually make me throw up if we drafted him.
Make sure to clean up after you do because that’s going to happen.

5th rated player at his position, simple as that.
But one hell of a player none the less. There is no sure thing at QB in this draft, Rosen or Darnold could end up being the 5 best QB in this draft even though they will likely both go in Top 3. I wouldn't mind developing Jackson if we could get a guy who can hold it down until he's ready. You beef up the OL and get some WR's who can catch and make plays anyone can have a Case Keenum breakout year.

Rosen and Darnold are supposed to be the top 2 qBs off the board on draft day.
Josh Allen has pro size, big arm and accuracy issues .
Baker Mayfield is a small size QB who put big numbers in a conference not known for defense.System QB
Mason Rudoplh -big guy with average arm.
Lamar Jackson-great arm, ahtletic ability ,accuracy issues, too small a frame according to some pundits.
NFL.COM PRE-COMBINE EVALS
Rosen-all the physical tools with a questionable attitude and leadership?
Darnold-solid skills,coverage read skills,turnovers
Allen-size,arm,accuracy issues and reading coverage issuesBoom or Bust type
Lamar Jackson-great arm and AA,frame size and accuracy.Would be a good playaction QB
Mayfield-spread offense guy,lacks size,scheme dependent QB,good touch passer
Rudolph-goodsized playaction QB,inconsistent average arm .Early backup with chance to become below average to average starter.

they are obviously not excited about Rudolph at all.{nfl.com}

I have to laugh at Mayfield suddenly being discovered. I posted on Sept 29 I had him on top my QB list. Several of these guys didn’t even have him in Round 1. He ended the season with a QB rating of 148.3 when the pocket didn’t fail. That was number 1. I still think there’s a chance Cleveland takes him, though I hear the Manziel history Is scaring them when it comes to a scrambler.

I think this list is good. I’m hearing Falk in round 2, but much depends on free agency. Jackson has a chance but his pocket presence has a long way to go. No question about his athleticism. Figure 2 years before he could start. Several teams still see him as a WR.

A quick look at Walterfootball.com has darnold dropping to us. The other draft on his site (Charlie Campbell) has Mayfield dropping to 22. What I like about that & other draft sites, along with the posters on this board, is the disparity on who is the top 5 in this draft. That gives me hope (because I have no idea who to pick) That it's possible that if we select the "5th." QB he could still end up a franchise QBOTF.

Athlete posing as a Qb and tutored by Bobby Petrino.

BTW, after watching WalterFootball for several years I have concluded they miss the mark on most. Plus mock drafts are nothing more than click bait.
He’s very good at “posing” as a QB, though.

Nobody knows for sure whats going to happen i agree.I enjoy the Mocks because it is interesting to see other opinions on how these prospects are viewed by others.I watched Lamar Jackson for 3 years at Louisville. He has flaws like every QB in this draft. His character, work ethic, athletic ability and arm are excellent. The question is can he learn to trust his pocket protection and read defenses better. His OLINE was very erractic starting a redshirt freshman CENTER and true freshman OG and the line as a whole forced Jackson to run for his life most games.Louisville didn`t use a lot of planned dumpoff short passes and preferred to try and go vertical most times. I have seen Rosen and Darnold on TV and both had good moments and some bad moments.I don`t recall seeing Josh Allen and Rudolph or Mayfield more than a fleeting few minutes.Would i feel comfortable with Cards drafting Jackson? Yes i would but he will take a year or two to develop before ready to jump into a starting role IMHO.I think the only QBs who could possibly start from day one are Darnold and maybe Rosen.Mayfield
and Rudoplh look like backups.

Can't speak for Harry, but... something about his delivery doesn't shout out "strong". I am no expert but many of his throws seem to take awhile to get there. He can drop the long ball in, but .... I never have been able to figure out how he was not recruited by any of the schools in his home state of North Carolina.

I watched the game between him & Mayfield & I thought he looked pretty good. He was hitting his receivers in stride. Looked very accurate.

Wow! Speaking of mock drafts and grading, PFF graded Mitch Trubisky higher than Deshaun Watson...for their actual rookie seasons!
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...higher-rookie-year-grade-than-deshaun-watson/

I was going to make some point about how the perfect fit plays a part in whether or not making a trade is worth while and how wrong I was about Watson to the Texans but this just destroys any credibility PFF might have had IMO.
