Never seen it.

See it. I didn't want to when it came out but it is a good movie. Just don't take it too seriously.

me neither

Good campy sci-fi fun, though I must admit it took a couple viewings for me to like it. Gary Oldman isfantastic.

Recently watched it. Perhaps It could grow on me after a few viewings, but I couldn't wait for this to end.

Damn, you beat me to it! Half-naked Mila Jovovich...prrrr!

That was a nice outfit.

Gary Oldman is great as usual.

However, I do agree that Oldman was terrific. His scenes were about the only ones I found interesting.

Not Bad, but Chris Tucker's character was possibly the most annoying in the history of cinema. He brought the movie down a few notches by himself. I hated the opera singer scene, as well.

Agree. I really wanted to fast forward thru Tucker's scenes.

It's hard to like this movie if you're not French.

I did not see this movie, but this thread has way too many posts in it. I wonder who will be the last to post in it. Not me, I am thinking.

Huh?

And this movie is fantastic.

Fifth Element was nominated for the French equivalent of the Academy Award ... best movie, best director, and something else. In America we honored it for the special effects and nothing else. There's a special French sense of irony -- Luc Besson wrote, directed -- that very few Americans can appreciate. It's different than, say, British humor like Monty Python. We (collectively) looked at this as cheesy sci-fi. The French thought of it as high comedy worthy of honors. The critics there saw it as brilliant parody of America's obsession with global destruction science fiction movies, although I don't think Besson had strong intentions of that. He is known as the French Steven Speilberg. I think he loves American cinema more than most Frenchmen.

Didn't Sheena Easton wear the same outfit in the Prince video that Bruce Willis' wears in this?

I'd much rather watch the Prince video than this whole movie.

However, the one good scene is pretty good. Milla's outfit. That is all. ALL!

Yup.

Correction: One on Prince's ladies wore the outfit. I don't think it was Sheena.
