Tony Pauline has an impeccable rep. I’m sure KK has said this and I can’t picture Keim denying him.
Interesting. But why is KK saying it, does he have the clout on draft day as of now?! Is Keim actually surrendering say for #1? Or are they pushing for a trade back with someone else maybe?

I don't see it. Announcing a trade before the draft.
Wait for draft day and see what offers you get for #1 pick before moving Rosen. Skins would have to offer their 1st and 3rd and a pick in 2020 at LEAST.

Then Keim should be fired for failing to go through the process of looking at all of the top prospects and making an informed decision.

Picking Murray is an unequivocal awful decision. Picking Murray before doing your due diligence is just negligent

The only thing Keim has been vocal about is that the pick is for sale. He hasnt added any qualifiers to that statement. The “Right Now” statement and the rumors leave enough grey area for other teams to trade up into the #1 slot.

The Cardinals have given signals that it’s either Bosa or Murray.

Yep. Rosen will be gone before the first ota in April. We’ll sign Murray 3 weeks before the draft so he can be here for the ota. It’s all becoming clear now.sheesh.

Well this supposed “news release” if you wanna call it that is completely ignorant and blatantly false… And if it’s not somebody needs to be fired..

Yeah, or a trade down for a bunch of picks and keeping Rosen.

BTW-I want Murray’s agent to represent me in every aspect of my life. he’s somehow convinced teams, fans and the media that Murray’s the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. Imagine what he could do for my career.

Other theory that makes this implausible.

Haskins is considered by most as being the superior prospect at QB (rightfully so). If the team is thinking quarterback, how is it a foregone conclusion that it’s Murray without even checking out Haskins?

And he convinced Tech to give Kliff a huge extension after one season. He's definitely a pretty slick agent.

I can guarantee you Kliff would take Murray over Haskins. That is just based on personal history with Murray going all the way back to when Kyler was a 15 year old. This is the guy who coached Manziel when he won the Heisman. Kliff sees Kyler as a better version of Johnny: better arm, better speed, and ZERO drug baggage off the field.

The bigger issue in my opinion is that the Cardinals have a lot of problems on their roster they need to fix. I think it's possible all the stuff we are hearing right now is just a smokescreen to get someone like the Raiders to move up to #1. This would give the Cardinals more high level draft picks to help build the team. Rosen's cap hit of $8m is pretty good reason to keep him and try to build around him.

This might go down as one of the ballsiest offseasons in NFL history if we really do this. Hitting the reset button on both your QB and head coach after one year and replacing them with a 5' 10" QB and a college coach with no pro experience. We'd be either be the laughing stock of the league or look like complete geniuses.

He’s also Kliff’s agent who ended up with an NFL head coaching gig after getting fired in college. This dude should be on the Mt Rushmore of agents along with Bradford’s agent and Scott Boras.

It's been said that Haskins wouldn't have cracked the top 4QBs last year.

Neither would Murray.

Personally, I would take every 2018 first-round QB other than Josh Allen over Murray and Haskins.

Good article from Peter King below. I tend to think the Cardinals are trying to get Gruden and the Raiders to move into the #1 spot for Murray. There are a lot of very good reasons for Arizona to stick with Rosen.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...nfl-combine-notes-fmia-peter-king/?cid=fmiatw

"I do believe there’s a good chance the Cardinals take Murray number one. I can say five things about Murray and this draft after doing some legwork at the combine Friday and Saturday:

1. GM Steve Keim has final say on Cardinals personnel, including the draft. I would be shocked if today, 53 days before the draft and not having had a private workout nor a long conversation with Murray, that Keim has decided to pick Murray. “I don’t believe it for a second,” said Greg Gabriel, a veteran of 31 NFL drafts as a scout. “Could he have the lead in the clubhouse now? Sure. But nobody makes decisions like that this far out, without doing their due diligence.”

2. There are two Josh Rosen problems. Last year, Arizona traded third-round and fifth-round picks to move up five slots in the first round to choose the UCLA quarterback. So now, if they pick Murray, the Cardinals would have to dump Rosen after 13 shaky starts, and it’s a tricky proposition. “The danger is, you start to shop Rosen, and everyone knows you’re picking Murray,” said former NFL front-office man Mike Lombardi.

3. Rosen Problem 2: What could you get in trade for him? Miami (13th pick in the first round), Washingon (15), the Chargers (28) and New England (32) would be worth investigating … unless the compensation for Rosen has crashed. I asked Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner, who lives in Arizona and watched Rosen last year, what he thinks the value for Rosen is. “I would give a three for Josh,” Warner said. A third-round pick. Yikes. Saturday night, I asked a renowned NFL GM what he thought the value of Rosen in trade would. “Probably a three,” the GM said. “Not what the Cardinals would think his value is.” Scary, on the surface, for Arizona. But if you’ve decided you want Murray, and you’ve decided Rosen’s not your guy, you’ve got to move on, regardless what you get for Rosen.

4. Oakland coach Jon Gruden, picking fourth, loves Murray. He and GM Mike Mayock have gone out of their way to say multiple times that Derek Carr is their quarterback. Maybe they’re rock-solid on Carr, and maybe it’ll be a moot point if the Cardinals stay at number one. But with all their draft loot in the next two drafts (five first-round picks), and with Gruden’s crush on Murray, the Raiders bear watching.

5. Murray met with 10 teams in Indianapolis, but I wouldn’t read a lot into that. The usual suspects were among the 10 teams—Arizona, Oakland, the Giants, Jacksonville, Miami and Washington. But he also met with Detroit, Seattle and the Chargers. Detroit. Hmmm. Seattle: probably just fact-finding. I’m not sure of the 10th team. But as I said, don’t read too much into that."

How many freakin' days till the draft?

Don't worry Jeff, once FA starts, this will become old news for awhile until we get nearer the draft again. By the way April 25th is day one of the draft so by my calculations 52 more days. FA should chew up about 3 weeks of this time. In the meantime I don't even open any threads relating to Murray. March 13th 4:00pm EDT will start FA.

If I were Keim I would never let KK be involved in the decision to select Murray. From everything I have read or heard KK is too close to Murray to make a unbiased rational decision. I would also tell KK you made a commitment that you could fix and improve Rosen so now the onus is on you to make that happen. That is why we hired you in the first place. If they end up drafting Murray then all it means is KK is not the QB coach he claims he is and Keim is an idiot and this team will remain in the dumpster for years to come.

Murray to Cards would cause our PR Department to add a number of employees to their department. But it's just not going to happen. Learn a new dance, Cardinals fans, "The Bosa Nova".

At the very least I want their 1st and 3rd . If that’s not good for them then they can draft Lock or Jones.
We're not getting a first for Rosen, much less two picks.

I have this sinking feeling we're going to draft Murray and end up being somehow worse than the team that finished in dead last for a while.
