he led his team to being a serious contender, overcoming obstacles during the season and that's why he deserves it. i've got no problems with him winning it and think that this year he was the MVP but there's no "finally" about it IMO.

CP3 snubbed.....they must have accounted for women raped this year

Bryant didn't rape anybody. He cheated on his wife, but if you want to disqualify adulterers, you'd better tell Jordan to give his six MVPs back.

I am an admitted Suns homer. This is just another reason why this season sucks.

Good. He truly deserved it. CP3 did as well, but Kobe did more with less help (insane injuries on this team and one other all star --the one time AS Pau for 30 games) than Paul.

Winning the West put it in the bag.

Congrats to Kobe, but that's not the trophy I'm worried about.

Oh shut up, like you don't have enough championships! :p

There is NEVER enough!:)

Did anyone see the Bird interview a few days ago when they asked his opinion on kobe and the whole mvp thing. When the interviewer told him Kobe had never won it he said something along the lines of... He's the best player in the game today and has been for some time.... he really hasnt won one? Maybe i should jest give my back then.

:yeahthat:
Anyway, i'm not a Kobe fan but....congrats... it's about time.
The MVP award is an enigma to me still.
He's the best all-around player in the NBA,if there's an award for that then he's it.

Me too. They need to just call it the SBT. Seasons Best Player. Most valuable is so subjective and open to interpetation.

He's well on his way. If not this year, he's got at least one in the works in the next few with Pau and Bynum as the frontcourt.

Keep up the haterade IVs.

What will you say then?

Oh, let's see him win two without Shaq? How about three?

Let's see Shaq not implode next season.
