Yes, but just by an inch. (and since I'm 13, I'm still growing)

Aren't you supposed to be happy these days?

I have a gut feeling saying IF the Lakers make it to the finals they will be embarassed by the East forcing Bryant to demand more changes and adding onto the discussion of "will he ever win without Shaq?"

But hey, that's just me...

you know I was reading this book called hammer of the gods....speaking of rape. anyone who like zeppelin should know what I'm talkin about......I guess part of the perks of being a famous millionaire that has decent looks.....

anyway back to bball. chris paul is my mvp this year. I think he dominated the game more than any other player in the league regardless of how you break it down. best player, most valuable to his team, ect, ect. usually you can make arguements for other players in other categories or aspects of the arguement. but IMO paul is the MVP of the league more so than bryant or james. I can't say I'm shocked or disappointed though because bryant is a great player. I'd be fine if lebron won it too....of course if I were a NO fan I'd be livid.

the sad thing is that shaq won a ring without kobe and he thinks or probably thinks that it was due to him being a better player.....which is not the case by any stretch. it really has more to do with wade going off from the perimeter and living at the line while shaq was on the bench and missing FT's as always.

Only 'cause they can't win.

...this season...
can't win what? they are alive and well last time I looked. paul had the best regular season. we'll see if he can continue it in the playoffs. he looked decent in round one.

Dude, Wade in the Finals was at the line something like 8 times PER GAME more than his season average. That was unreal.

That Heat title is as close to an * as the Spurs 99 "title."

Oh, you know what. They can't beat the Lakers. In fact, I pray they beat the Spurs because the Lakers will stomp them in the WCF if they can get past the Jazz.

The Hornets can't win a title this season, and you know it. No shot.

If they add a couple of good depth guys in the offseason, they can make a good run next year, but the West is getting tougher nex year in ways the Hornets can't deal with (Oden, Bynum). Remember, the Lakers with Bynum BLEW OUT the NOOCH on their home court, and barely beat the non-bynum, non-pau lakers at home. And lost to them the other times. They just can't deal with true centers.

the heat title is legit. the mavs could of beat them and they fell short. I wish stack wouldn't of got suspended on a hard foul to shaq....I standby that it was BS....considering that shaq drew blood from stackhouse earlier in the series on a no call. I cannot stand the NBA and their suspensions in the playoffs it is more inconsistent than watching josh howard playing under the influence. but in all seriousness....even the mavs homer in me isn't going to call an asterick on the heat because wade got to the line on some phantom calls. that title was well deserved...as any title that has ever been won by any other team. If my mavs could win just one I'd take it with an asterick in a heartbeat and I would defend it against any other team.

SOME??

Not some. A ton.

The guy was as protected as Jordan in that series. He did NOTHING differently, but if he was near the rim it was even money a foul would be called.

Yes, Dallas should have played through it to EARN the title, but I don't consider the Heat title as an "earned" title. More like a luck of the draw.

and the celtics had little problem with the hawks in the regular season. this is a new season and chris paul is the league's most dominant player IMO from an overall standpoint. darren williams can dominate a game, so can kobe, lebron, ect. but paul is playing the most dominate at the moment. and if he keeps it up they have a chance. not saying they will beat your lakers or the spurs for that manner, but they can. this is not the regular season. and aside from kobe and maybe fischer the lakers have a lot of youth and inexperience as well. so I hope the lakers players don't have those thick glasses on like you do if they somehow do get past the jazz and play NO.

the difference for wade in that series was his play on the perimeter. dallas was well aware of his ability to get to the line and live at the rim. but they wern't aware of his ability to shoot the ball like MJ did in a finals. anyone who discounts wade's play in that series....well I don't know what to say. the guy dominated the game like MJ did.....granted it was one series and he hasn't ever looked that dominant before for a sustained period of time. but you have to give him credit for taking advantage of his moment. dirk didn't and he has to live with that until he gets back there if he ever does. this is complete unbias on my part because I love my mavs and do not have other favorite teams unlike others.

Hey, LorenzoNO, the regular season does show us some things, and one thing it does show is that if you shut down the backdoor alley on NO you take away a lot of their offense. If you make Paul a scorer and not a facilitator you also hurt that team.

Will the Lakers beat them? Likely. Lakers beat the Spurs? Tossup with the Spurs having the playoff advantage.

Even the bench guys of the Lakers have more playoff experience than the Nooch though, so don't go with just Kobe and Fish having the goods there. You have to lose in the playoffs to win in the playoffs; I'm a firm believer in that. The Lakers (Kobe, Fish, Sasha, Luke, Farmar, Lamar, Pau, Vlade, Turiaf) have experience in the playoffs on the losing end...that drives them now. Plus add in Phil. While I LOVE Byron, he's not nearly the coach Phil is.

Lakers have advantages all over that matchup. I'm hoping they can pull off the upset against the Spurs, and yes, it would be an upset.

He hasn't looked that dominant before or after.

Dude, seriously...8 attempts at the line PER GAME more. That's BS. Not even in the previous series, in a MUCH tougher matchup against detroit...Wade got the calls when they weren't there. It was garbage. They won fair and square, but only because Wade was allowed to operate inside like nobody else has been able to.

Do you really mean to say that Kobe would have got those calls? I mean, he gets his fair share of garbage calls, but he also is given the "late whistle" which means he charges in, tosses it up and refs hold the foul call until the ball is in or out. Wade got the calls regardless. Most odd officiating in a finals I've seen in a LONG time, and I RARELY will pin anything on refs.

I don't think you have to lose to win. I agree with your logic which is why the hornets will be underdogs the rest of the playoffs and which is why they were picked to lose against dallas by some despite being the two seed. but you don't have to lose anything. scott has been around the block a time or two in the playoffs. west is a good player....better than odem. chandler can play against gasol....and can give him some problems at the other end of the court. I personally think it would be a great series if they can get past SA and LA can get past UT. peja has been there too. oh and look at for this pargo kid that looks like he could be a starter in this league as he's just a bench guy at the moment.

I don't know. I've seen plenty of games where kobe lives at the line in the fourth even with no contact. in fact that's pretty much what he always tries to do and can be the difference in whether or not the lakers win or lose. but that's neither here nor there. I agree that wade got some phantom calls. but he still played excellent and deserves everything he has.

I've seen this Pargo kid...he's an ex-Laker. I like him immensely.

Not saying we'd stomp the nooch like we did the nugs, but I think we'd beat them and the matchups are really favorable.

Kobe is fouled more than anyone not named Shaquille O'Neal with no-calls. It's a fact of being so damn good that he and Shaq are expected to get hit and deal. If Kobe didn't make so many shots with contact (and didnt' cry every time he gets grazed) he'd get more fouls called. Dude takes a TON of contact. Wade takes FAR less contact for fouls than Kobe scores on contact and gets no calls. I watch. I accept it. But I don't accept that it is "fair" across the board. It is what it is.

The Real MVP!!!

Funny how Chris Wallace's ineptitude had NO bearing on the Lakers beating Dallas on the road and blowing out Utah on the unwinnable home court of the Jazz in back to back games. Oh yeah, that was the Pau-and-Bynum-less Lakers led by Kobe that did that. And also led the West before the Pau trade, and then led it afterwards, and then won the Pacific, and then won the west and the number one seed. Oh, and on the way beat the Suns 3-1 in the season series despite 'Antoni's arrogance and "run run run" philosophy.

Go make some more bad hip-rap, please. The world is staaaarving for it.

dirk gets contact on just about every play he touches the ball. I think most star players especially ones that iso....get a lot of contact. I think they all deserve the credit that they earn. If kobe wins a ring this year I won't discount it regardless of the foul calling.
