fixed that for you.
Hey, weren't those same sports journalists that voted for Kobe as MVP the same that said the Lakers would be 7th to 11th spot in the West?

so, if that was case then, couldn't the post you fixed be applied to the ones who voted? I mean you are accusing of Andrew not knowing what he is talking about yet some of those that voted for MVP had it wrong too. Just saying...

Just guessing with no real analysis or basis for it.

Apples and oranges.

One is a prediction, another is a decision based on actual results.

If the MVP was awarded in the pre-season based on what people thought would happen, you'd have a point.

Your right, but then one can make the case that since they (voters) were so off
on their prediction, it made it seem that he was more worthy of it.

* don't worry, I agree he deserves it , I am just playing devil's advocate.

That's an interesting argument, actually.

It's all subjective, but I think Paul deserved it more this year.

Take each guy from their team, Lakers would be around a 7-9 seed but the Hornets would be like 12th.

Just saying.

So even with West, Peja, and the rest, they would manage around 23 wins without Paul? I don't think so.

Both the Lakers and the Hornets would be totally screwed without Bryant or Paul, they would probably be around 8th seed, or barely miss the playoffs. The Lakers wouldn't have gotten out of the first round without Kobe.

Odom > West or Peja

Gasol > West or Peja

Odom and Gasol >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> West and Peja

Phil Jackson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Byron Scott

Uhm, no. I'd take West any and all day over odom. And I love Odom.

Chandler and Gasol is the matchup there...kind of a wash...TC plays D better, Pau better O.

Peja >>>>>>>>>>>>> Radman or Luke

About the ONLY thing you got right was Phil better than Byron.

LOL

just more proof how under appreciated Odom is. I wish Riley convinces him to come back to Miami soon.

Odom >>>>>>>>>>>>> West by a lot.

Gasol >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chandler

just more proof how awesome CP3 is. Making Chandler look good.

Ok, I'm a bigger Odom fan then just about anyone, but saying he's miles better then West is just crazy.

Odom is a great player right now because he's in the perfect role for him. He's a third option, he gets over looked by defenses because they are so busy worrying about Gasol or Bryant and he constantly makes them pay. Odom is essential to what the Lakers do, Odom in my opinion has more overall talent then Gasol. That being said, Odom simply doesn't do well as a second option as to where West excels in that role. I don't know if it's mental or what, but Odom looks great right now because Phil Jackson has Odom in the position where he best fits. I won't argue your opinion on Odom's talent, because I agree with you, but I think you're giving West the short end of the stick. West is a beast.

I do think Gasol is way better then Chandler. Chandler is more defensive minded, but Gasol runs the floor better, posts up better, shoots better, passes better, and has a higher "basketball IQ" then Chandler. The Lakers big problem will be Peja. If we can get Ariza 100% before that series, that will be a big boost. Other then Kobe, Ariza is our best chance to slow Peja.

Odom was a beast here in Miami.

During Wade's rookie year, Odom was the #1 or #2 option and the HEAT reached game 6 of the second round back when Indiana Pacers were good team.

The guy is a hard worker, does the dirty work, and is potentially a 20+ ppg /10 reboundspg/ 4-5assistspg guy easily for the season.

The guy shoots 48% for his career.. and he doesn't whine and complain. He continues his production in the playoffs. I wish we had him back in Miami since we gave him up in that Shaq trade.

Whereas David West is a good player, but is a beneficiary of CP3, just like Chandler.

Tyson CHandler

Chicago ------------- New Orleans

FG % .483 --------------.624 last year, .623 this year
PPG 6.8 ppg --------------11.8 ppg this year

Watch Hornets games and you will see how many gimmie's Paul sets up for him

It's the same with West. Paul is the real deal, Hornets were #1 in the WCF until the final part of the season and only finished 1 game behind LA. it's a fact that he deserved the MVP for 2007-2008 more than Kobe Bryant did.

Bryant got a pity MVP Lifetime achievement award.

AS FOR DAVID WEST

Stats before Chris Paul was drafted :

FG% .436
PPG 6.2

Stats the very next season during Chris Paul's rookie year :

FG % .512
PPG 17.1

and it's gone up every year now that Paul is in his 3rd season.

CP3.

Yeah, that has nothing to do with the fact that West got 13 mpg his rookie year, and missed 50 games his second year, again getting only 18 mpg.

His production went up with more playing time as well as Paul.

I give you paul setting up chandler, but West gets his own, most of the time.

I just showed you facts stats on how CP3's arrival improved teammates games tremendously and lifted Hornets from a backwater laughing stock to #1 in the WCF for a time, ending #2 by only 1 game.

Kobe gets all these accolades for his scoring. Blah blah blah, so he got the MVP now that the Lakers are winning and will be going to the Finals. Is this a direct result of Kobe? No. Lakers are stacked.

Kobe Bryant has the three worst shooting 50 point games not only since 1986, but the three worst 50 point games (in terms of efficiency) in NBA history. These are among the few games in history in which a player scored 50 points, but didn't even make half of his shots from the field. In other words, these are achievements of volume shooting, not efficiency. But these aren't flukes, either. In terms of shooting, Kobe also has 7 of the 15 worst, and 10 of the 25 worst 50 point games since 1986. That's half of all of his 50 point efforts.

17-38, 53 points, December 15, 2006
19-44, 53 points, March 30, 2007
17-41, 50 points, January 7, 2006

etc........ Kobe's most efficient game is ranked #12. that's it.

Whereas a player like Michael Jordan holds the #1 ranked game and holds most of the efficiency rankings in the top 25. Kobe is over rated big time and the MVP was a lifetime achievement award.

Gonna go to my ma's house and visit her for mother's day. be back tonight.

He wasn't good enough to get playing time. Once Paul arrived and was the starting PG in his rookie season, West got to benefit from playing with him.

Yeah, Bryant got 82 first place votes to 28 for Paul out of "pity". That's especially funny considering those same writers had never voted Kobe higher than third.

Please, just deal with the fact that Kobe is the MVP and stop embarrassing yourself.

Great stats MH. I never new that. 44 shots for 53 points isn't good in my book. If I had those shots myself, who knows how close I might have got.

Another thing, what about points from free throws? If you take his points from free throws out, doesn't it get worse? hmmmm?

...thats only 38 points from shots made....out of 44 shots taken. Wow!

I thought the MVP was about this season. Why are you bringing up games from past seasons?

Right, Joe. Free throws aren't part of the game, huh? Kobe gets FT's because he takes the ball to the hoop.

Keep on hatin'. It isn't going to get the trophy off of Kobe's mantle.

Just do yourselves a favor and add the troll to ignore.

I just wish people would stop quoting him so I didn't have to read his crap. He's the ultimate troll, during the season he was bagging on Suns fans and making fun of Shaq, now that the Suns season is over, he's attacking the Laker fan base. All this guy does is come here to post his idiotic conspiracy theories and be a horses ass.

The Ignore feature will save you from wasting the effort of reading his crap. Let the troll die of starvation.
