whoa, wait a minute! I agree with just about everything you've said but the Fisher thing is out of line. She is sick and staying situated where her daughter can get help has nothing to do with joining up with the Lakers. Have a little heart will ya?

he basically lied to Utah to get them to release him from his obligation and said he's going to NY Knicks and then bam, turns around and signs with a rival, the Lakers, who just happened to steal Gasol and needed a PG to complete the team.

fisher lied his way to LA. if you don't see what happened here behind the scenes, you aren't looking closely enough. Fisher suddenly has to switch cities, right? Gasol for Kwame Brown and some picks? There should be an investigation into what the Lakers did. THE LAKERS WERE THE ONLY TEAM MADE AWARE THAT GASOL WAS AVAILABLE. Fisher suddenly needs to move cities for his 'sick daughter' and lies by saying he's going to NY, then when he's released, bam, signs with LA (they needed a PG). You need to look closer. Kobe's trade demands made the Lakers go behind the scenes and pull strings. An investigation needs to be done.

PG - empty....but it fills out with Fisher
SG - Kobe
SF - Odom
PF - Gasol
C - Bynum (injured)

look at that roster. if I were a LAKER fan, I would be jumping for joy and be laughing at the fact that I know we cheated to get that roster.

anyway back to the point. look at the LAKERS. Odom is a beast and I can't believe how under the radar he is now because of Gasol trade. Who here can seriously tell me that Kobe is more important to Lakers than Paul is to Hornets?

Hornets finished #2 in the WCF. The -HORNETS- for god's sake. 1 game away from trying Lakers #1 spot in WCF.

there is just no way. only Laker fans are going to homer it up and defend the MVP decision. it's just more proof that David Stern is a piece of crap that turned the NBA into a crooked business. it's not a real sport anymore. NFL ftw.

2007 off-season when Kobe blasts Lakers management and demands trade.

Mitch Kupchack : Kobe, please, give me some time. Give me another chance to fix this. Come to training camp, play for the Lakers and give me some time to make some moves, ok?

Kobe : ok.... but you better show me some results. I really don't want to leave LA but I want to win badly, so don't force me to leave LA.

Mitch : No problem Kobe. I understand. I will make some moves, just give me some time. Talk to ya later.

During the 07-08 season

Lakers acquire Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown (@>Q#@:>!@>!>!>!) AND SOME PICKS?!? Nobody in the league was informed of Gasol's availability, and many were ready to offer better packages for Gasol.

Lakers acquire Derek Fisher, who told Utah that he had to go to NY for better doctors for his suddenly sick daughter. Once released, he signs with rival LAKERS.

Mitch calls Kobe : Hey champ. I made some moves and you got your team! Look at our roster now! Did I come through or what, baby?!? You happy, Kobe?

Kobe : Hell yeah!! Thanks Mitch. Laker for life.

Mitch : No problem Kobe. I had to pull some strings behind the scenes, but it was all for you Kobe.

Lakers soar with stacked roster, however end just 1 game ahead of NEW ORLEANS HORNETS led by the amazing Chris Paul

Kobe wins MVP, because apparently having a stacked roster means the LAKERS are going to the Finals and David Stern sees Lakers-Celtics. Stern drools himself to sleep.

i don't blame you for being happy. you have a stacked team and will most likely reach the NBA finals and probably win it all if not this year, then competing every year after.

but the rest of us are very upset at this crap MVP to kobe and the crap trades and unethical/cheating moves made by lakers management. lakers sucked average team 1st round exit until the gasol trade. now all of a sudden, kobe mvp? lol.

paul was robbed at gunpoint of the mvp. lakers-celtics finals, david stern has his bedsheets and pillowcases already printed out with that 2008 matchup. he probably goes to sleep with a big smile in them.

You can moan all you want about the trades...that's fine. There's an argument to be made there, and it is what it is. Mitch got over on Memphis, big time.

But Kobe's MVP isn't crap. Very legit. You can make arguments that CP3 was more deserving, but it isn't like Kobe had a crap year or his team was an 8 seed or something. It just becomes sour grapes at that point.

the lakers were indeed an 7th or 8th seed (IF THAT!) in this years competitive WCF standings without gasol. you know it and I know it. once gasol is on board, all of a sudden lakers soar and now kobe is mvp.

this isn't a lifetime achievement award. this is 2007-2008 mvp award, and it clearly goes to Chris Paul, but because he is young and Kobe never won any and it's really possible Lakers going to win it all, there ya go. Paul was robbed, the end. going to sleep.

That's not exactly true. Before Bynum got hurt, the Lakers were the #1 seed for quite some time. So if you're saying that based on him being out and them not having Gasol, then I'd agree with you. But the fact of the matter is, the Lakers finished right where they left off before that had happened and the only difference is they did it with Gasol instead of Bynum. So when you think about it, Kobe was just as deserving of the MVP award as CP3.

I don't mind people arguing the MVP decision. Chris Paul had a very good case as well. My problem is an asshats like you that just comes here to spew conspiracy crap and cry like a pre teen on the rag. You can take your opinions and shove them up your ass.

I find it a little ironic that a guy whos team obtained an all star and a back up point guard for a 36 year old 40 million dollar Cactus would be complaining about other teams blessings on the trade market.:bang:

Poor Miami Heat! With Shaq not around to hate on, it's time to turn your venom onto Kobe.

Just come to grips with the fact that your team sucks and will for the forseeable future. You'll be much happier when you accept that truth and can finally move on with your life.

Not sure of that. If Marion stays (which hes said he does) and Wade coming back healthy, I see them with a chance of getting Derrick Rose or Beasley. if they do, I see them as a team to reckon with.

You're right, they might make a valiant charge into the 8th seed in the east. Hell, with talent like that, they might even win one playoff game.

That's not true at all. hornets, nuggets, trailblazers, warriors, and of course the suns, mavs and spurs all had exactly the same amount of wins or much more. Spurs and Suns were 1-2 in the standings, and I'm pretty sure the Lakers were somewhere in the middle to lower end of the pack since all those other teams had the same amount of wins.

most analysts all had the lakers at 7 or 8 spot, but that was before the bynum injury and the fact that the west became so competitive. the lakers had the same record they had the year before....nothing new.... that is.....until Gasol-gate and Fisher-lie.

No. They had a .500 November, then rolled in December and January. They were 27-12, 3rd in the league in scoring differential, killing the west and rolling strong. THEN Bynum got hurt. They slid. They got Pau...they rolled some more. Pau got hurt...the Lakers went 500, beating Utah and Dallas on the road. Pau got better..the Lakers closed strong.

When the Suns beat the Lakers in January, it was for first place in the division. The Suns held it for a bit, and then in February it was again for 1st place. The Lakers held tiebreakers over the Spurs at that point, and the other teams. Nobody had "much more" wins than anyone at that time.

I can see how you could be confused with all the crap teams (yours included) in the East.

Most analysts had them at 7 or 8 BEFORE the season. From December on, the Lakers were top 6 in the power rankings overall almost every week.

It's all subjective, but I think Paul deserved it more this year.

Take each guy from their team, Lakers would be around a 7-9 seed but the Hornets would be like 12th.

Just saying.
