I would rather see if Burress could improve on a 60 catch season. I watched alot of Steelers games this year and I don't think that it was so much of Burress disappearing or droping balls(although I can remember a couple) as it was that he was not Maddox' option because of pressure and Hines being there go to guy. If we picked up an extra pick and a deep threat and only have to give up Big Ben...I would be for it. Not for Manning however. This would have to be an on the clock trade.

I'd rather sign McCariens to a reasonable contract, then draft Manning or Rothimacallit. They both look solid and barring bad workouts could either be the QB of the future.

From a $$$$ standpoint Burress and the 11th plus a third would be more in line and for the chance to win right now this would also be a better match. But neither would be the end of the world .

Burress doesn't have the heart, IMO. If Green thinks he can control/motivate him, why not? He has all the tools

The plan has some merit but I'm of the mind that one of the two "franchise" QB's will be available at #11. I've toyed around with a mock and it goes something like this:

#1 SD-Gallery-OT
#2 OAK-Fitzgerald-WR
#3 AZ- Roy Williams-WR
#4 NYG-S.Andrews-OT
#5 WASH-T.Harris-DT
#6 LIONS-Taylor-S
#7 ATL-Reggie Williams-WR
#8 CLEV-Winslow-TE
#9 JAX-Clayton-WR
#10 TEX-W. Smith-DE
#11 PITT-Manning-QB

Eli Manning will be the first person selected in this year's draft. I don't know by which team (meaning someone may trade into the spot) but he WILL go first. I don't know about the rest, but Eli will go first. Period. I'll bet any amount of money, and give you 10-1 odds (I get lucky when I throw that in).
