Whether or not he is any good is for the other thread. Any way you slice it he is NOT an upper echelon guard.

My issue is this: Right now the Cards have money to go one of two ways. Pay PM or fix the O-Line. They should have waited until Peyton makes up his mind, and if he chooses NOT to come here, then pay better money to better players.

As of 3-14-2012 I really don't like this signing. The timing sucks.

It's an extremely cheap signing by the looks of it. They can probably cut Hadnot just to make up the cost so IMO you are really making a bigger deal about this than what there needs to be. This signing does nothing when it comes to having to pay Peyton.

the guy plays both guard and tackle. We cut Levi, who was not only not upper eschelon, but garbage and way too expensive. Besides, without upgrades on the line, whatever QB we have back there is going to get killed. I'm very content with his signing

I like the signing, provided he stays at guard. If the intention is to play him at tackle then shame on Whis & Co.

It was a necessary signing. One of those things which you can hardly get excited about but had to be done to fill the gaps

I view this more as a depth move - a new & improved version of Jeremy Bridges. We will still want to upgrade both tackles, and Snyder might (if we can't sign a veteran or 2) buy us time as we break in a youngster.

What I'm wondering is - can we afford to keep 2 swing-men in Snyder and Bridges?

I trust they know what they were getting and will use him appropriately. This is a division rival so they know what the guy can do. I don't think this eliminates the possibility of Decastro should he be BPA when we pick.

yup. Not a home run, but not a strike out either

for the best, probably a walk on base and the worst a series of foul balls till we release him and he strikes out, hopefully we have two other guys in the line up and this does not decide the fate of the OL lol

Well He can play Tackle and we have NONE! Center and guard are a plus. were a mess salarary cap wise, Fitz cost as much as most QB's and Kolb cost as much as most QB's too, they are at least 25% of the 2012 cap.

AND WE HAVE NO TACKLES, THERE ARE NONE AVAILABLE, WE KILL TACKLES by passing to much- so lets all join hands and sing a hundred bottles of beer on the wall or something?

Thank you Snyder for being a Cardinal.

As I think about it makes some sense. He 'could' replace TWO roster spots in Hadnot and Lutui at an apparently reasonably cost. "We" still need two tackles and this move doesn't preclude drafting DeCastro IMO. A lot will depend on whether PM picks the Cardinals, because if he does that prevents a lot of other FA signings IMO.

We need to cut that Fitz guy we are paying way too much for someone like him.

It's not Snyder's fault that the Cards now have a tradition of signing a free agent Guard every year and he just happened to be this year's choice.

2009- Jeremy Bridges
2010- Alan Faneca
2011- Daryn Colledge
2012- Adam Snyder
