Of course he has skills drive and guts. He's in the nfl. I don't see how he's shown to be extraordinary in any of those depts though. You can throw out whatever excuses you like but he was one of the worst starting running backs in football last year. The line wasn't great but Kerwynn Williams found a way to run for 100yds behind it and average almost a yard and a half more per carry than Ellington once Lindley was in and everyone knew we were just gonna run the ball. There's no denying it. My biggest issue with him is that not only does he avoid contact but he doesn't even deny it. I think he must read this board because after a rookie year of gaining yards as a side attraction, the kid seems to think he's somehow qualified to not attempt to break tackles. I'm not anti-Ellington, just pro-cardinals. I don't live in Arizona so I deal way more with opposing teams fans and I have yet to meet one who has any fear of Andre Ellington. I think he is a above average 3rd down back/slot guy.
That he was even in there last year with the injury he had speaks volumes. He hasn't reached his pinnacle yet. But it's coming.
All I can say is keep watching. Me and BA disagree strongly with your assessment.
That said we will draft a b/u in around the 3rd Rd. this year. We'll see how much time they get toting the rock.
