The mods there have verified his connection. You either believe it or not. He can't just come out and say to everyone how he knows the stuff. That would be risking his job security and in this economy, no one wants to do that.

This means squat. Did the "mods" go to work with the guy? Did the "mods" simply get an email from a guy who knows a guy. Maybe it was a phone call from a guy who says he knows the guy.

Seriously......a Mod verifying a resource isn't like the Washington Post verifying a resource. It doesn't mean a thing.

There have been a TON of things this guy has not gotten right. I still will never forget the KG thing being a done deal....then it wasn't......then it was...then it fell apart.

He is full of it.

Making sense and having interest are not mutually exclusive. Any lottery team would love to have a player with the quality of Nash.

at what expense? not sure why those teams would sacrifice their future and high picks for a 38 year old aging run and gun only PG.

Depends on the team. For the Twolves and Raptors, it would be to add a mentor to their young pgs and it gets people to go to the arena. For the Clips, it makes them a legit playoff threat.

Since Nash is also a $12 million expiring deal, they know they aren't on the hook for long with him.

There's also the possibility of moving him in a 3+ team deal that could get him to a contender with us getting draft picks in return. So there are possibilities.

Also the Rockets if they wanna try to lure Howard. Martin, Nash + the young talented players they have could lure Dwight to Houston.

Looks like Nash left the door open to go back to Dallas. I'm not sure what Dallas could send to us that would make me want to do that.

Maybe this Traxxe guy is a Suns plant to throw folks off the real plans. A fan message board insider double agent!

And maybe, just maybe, the Suns do well enough this season to keep The Nash and this current rebuild going? Maybe Nash stays through 2012 and beyond for as long as he can still play at a high level and the team can compete, ala Stockton? Then retires a Sun. Anyone every thought of that as a very real possibility?

I'm not sure why so many fans are in such an all-fire hurry to see Steve traded while he is still playing this well and the team is starting to improve.

Yes, the breakup of last years team (and some of the versions before that) was painful, stupid of Sarver and mostly not necessary. But it happened, and yet another rebuild-on-the-fly around Nash's unique talents is starting to come together pretty nicely.

If the Suns were a straight crappy lotto team with no hope of improvement? Sure, move Nash asap to a better team. But if he likes the direction and wants to keep playing in Phx, why would you move him? You will NEVER get remotely equal value.

As it stands now, is the team still short a really top-notch starting PF? Sure. Amare is gone, after all. But they are starting to figure out how to fill in with the frontcourt they have. Kudos to all 4 guys - Lopez, Gortat, Frye and Hak are really starting to settle into a very nice rotation over the last 10 games. Let's see if they can keep it up into a playoff berth. All 4 should get better for another few years if they get some stability. That makes them both better contributors and trade pieces for an even better player.

Sorry guys, I'm just in no rush to:

a) see Nash play like this somewhere else

b) see the Suns become the Jazz or Houston or Indiana or fill-in-the-blank of the last decade. Great franchises mired in the search for consistent success after long runs of Hall of Fame franchise players.

No trading Nash unless he wants to go somewhere else. If he really did say that, great. Find a deal to move him where he wants to be. He's earned that from this franchise, IMO. Or let him sign elsewhere as a free agent. Otherwise, roll on Suns!

Sign x 2

I no longer watch the games but Gortat and Frye seem to be playing really well. The only player I am not sure is Carter. Lopez starts only to protect the little confidence he has left.

I think if Suns make the playoffs, we may see some surprises again.

Actually I beginning to think that it is a good thing Gentry starts Lopez because once Gentry puts Gortat in the game he tends to leave him in the game. If Gortat started, he might be playing all 48 minutes. An exaggeration, but not by much.

I hope we don't wait 'til then. The playoffs are not the time to try new chemistry . . . against teams who have it in place during the regular season.

What is more plausible:

#1. An actual insider with the Suns spends their time posting on a message board and divulging sensitive information. Yet somehow, the information is the same insider information you can get from reading ESPN Insider.

#2. Traxxe is a way to drive traffic to the site. He could be a moderator's alternate identity or even just a buddy of theirs. The information that they give is roughly what anyone with the inclination could discover on their own, yet sell it as "Inside Information"

Maybe I will make an alt named "SunsInsideTrax" and then post how SunsInsideTrax is a verified ASFN Insider.

If you have enough cash I'm pretty sure everyone here can get you that autograph, as far as you know. For a sizable fee, I'll even authenticate it for you.

Steve

Why has Steve Nash lost his shooting touch?

In our last three games (the last two of which we luckily won on Channing Frye's final 3-point shots in overtime), Steve Nash has lost his shooting touch.

Vs. Toronto ........... shot 2-12 ... 16.7% .......... 3-point shots ... 0/3
Vs. Indiana ........... shot 5-14 ... 35.7% .......... 3-point shots ... 0/4
Vs. New Jersey ..... shot 3-13 ... 23.1% .......... 3-point shots ... 0/3

3-game total ........ shot 10-39 .. 25.6% .......... 3-point shots ... 0/10

That is reason for concern. Is it fatigue? Or injury? Hopefully Aaron Brooks, once he gets some practices in and is 100% himself, can reduce Steve's minutes from now until the end of the season.

Yea if he's gonna keep playing like he does the last 3 games, I don't care if Nash leaves or not. But if he keeps playing like ****, his trade value is gonna take a big hit!

IMO, there is nothing wrong with Nash that taking a game or two off wouldn't help. This is why the Suns traded for Brooks because Dragic was not giving Nash sufficient rest. The same with Dowdell.

I can think of a few teams, either having a starting 4 or high lottery pick, that would have HIGH interest in Nash.

The Clippers have a monster stud of a 4, but there is NO way of getting him, and they don't have a high lottery pick, but they have some young assets that may be attainable in a deal for Nash.

The Jazz and Suns were in talks of Pietrus/Lopez for Milsap at the trade deadline. Maybe there was talk of adding in Nash too, but we would need Harris in the deal as well to make it worth it for us. If that's the deal, then the Jazz wouldn't have been able to include Harris until this summer anyways.

The Magic. Many fans on Suns forums before the trade deadline were talking and speculating a possible deal with the Magic that would net Nelson/Bass for Nash. I know that would deminish the Magic even more with their bigs, but I think a deal involving maybe Lopez and maybe Pietrus/Chill to Magic and they S&T J-Rich back to us. Or Nelson/Arenas/Bass for Nash/Lopez/Chill/Hill type deal.

Steve Nash for the Last 3 games :

39 asssits to 6 turnovers AND the team is 3-0. I'll take it, even if he is in a shooting slump. It's Steve "50/40/90) Nash. He'll come out of the slump. Damn.

I am still happy that Steve Nash (the second top assist Point Guard in the league) is leading the Suns.

But his shooting is not a slump. It is age, fatigue and back problems.

Now that Brooks is showing his value so quickly, I hope that Gentry can moderate Steve's minutes to get the most out of him for the rest of the season.

Yea Gentry needs to go back to last season's rotations where he took Nash out with 3 minutes left in the 1st QTR, then put him in at about the 5 minute mark in the 2nd QTR, then take him out with about 3 minutes left in the 3rd and put him back in at at the 5 minute mark in the 4th QTR.

The insider is wrong. Steve wanted out of PHX THIS season.

He has played like complete crap after the trade deadline. He's probably pissed he didn't get traded. Can he even score anymore? All he does now is pass even when everyone is covered and it ends up in a turnover. He's completely lost his scoring ability.

If he keeps playing at this level, I don't think anyone will offer even a 2nd rd pick for him.

The good news is that Steve's offense is off because he's injured.

The bad news is that it's the second half of the season and Steve is injured.

Thank goodness we got Aaron Brooks just in time to give him some relief.

Being injured and being 38 will kill his trade value.

Highly doubt his trade value has dropped. He's still a better player than 96% of the PG's in the league. A team that wants a championship push or a playoff team for the next few years would gladly trade for him .
