here's my biggest problem with NOT trading Nash this off-season... does that mean we're going to acquiesce to his wanting to play another 2 MORE YEARS after this one and reward him with a contract that will eta up our cap space after this season? if that's the case, this organization is truly ********.

I hope not. I am not opposed to letting Nash play out his contract if he wants to do so, but that's where I draw the line.

Nash: Its time to move on. I know it and you know it. I just want to make sure you move me to a place where I can win. Can we do that?

Babby: Ok, but you have to do something for me. Be a good citizen. Tell everyone that you would like to stay. That way we won't get low ball offers for you. You know we have to rebuild and we have to get some value. YOu could also say you want to play 2 or 3 more years. That should help teams that are on the fence to bite.

Nash: Can do.

Come on now. Suns FO is way to stupid to think of something like that.

Remember these are the same people that didn't know we can get a trade exception for Amare until someone told them.

So once we dramatically improve 4 of the 5 positions on the court for the future, we're set. Sounds easy.

I'm trying to be optimistic here. If we get lucky in the draft we get maybe (another) pg of the future or a future star shooting guard. Then maybe we can sign or trade for a wing or pf that pans out. I think I said 3 positions btw :) (pg, sg/sf, pf). Not gonna happen all at once but 2/3 would be awesome.

The one hopeful thing for Lopez is that he did have a good half a season last year. If he doesn't have a major physical problem or he can overcome it, he may again play at that level. If he hadn't shown that I don't many here would be counseling patience... I know I wouldn't.

Exactly. Lopez looked promising at the end of last season before he got his back injured. This was on the court with Nash and Amare way before we got Gortat so it's relative off course. He did put up quite impressive numbers for a while. Good times, both him and The Dragon looked like future starters. Alas...
