Did anyone see the game and hear Jeff Van Gundy say that Rondo "Dragic-ed" Bynum? LOL

As I predicted, once you cut off the Kobe-Gasol lifeline for the Lakers by solid defense, their offense is average at best with very good but not good enough individual one-on-one games by Kobe, Gasol and partially Bynum. And they were covered one-on-one without much help defense. Bynum played his best in the post season, but Artest and Fisher get totally exposed on offense. The refs gave Gasol way too many calls and didn't dare to call Kobe's 6th for his foul on Allen drive. But still, they can't beat the Celtics with this.

Amare would be much more adept at busting Celtics' interior defense with his face up game, as long as he makes the right decision. None of their bigs could keep up with Amare one-on-one.

Also, don't forget that the Lakers could have won that game if Nash didn't over-dribble so much. :D

1. Clown D'Antoni said he would not play him because of his shooting woes.

2. Sarver wasn't going to pay a guaranteed contract to a guy his coach supposedly refused to play.

All around disaster, but yeah, D'Antoni was the biggest reason behind the vetoed trade. The guy can't/won't develop youth.

This should be D'Antoni's legacy.

Were you implying that if Nash had Rondo's speed and stamina, we'd have been fine with his overdribbling? I'd agree here.;)

It might just be. He has not done squat in NY except make that team worse defensively and rack up a ton of Losses on D'Antoni's Win/Loss record.

42 minutes
Took and made big shots
8-18 FG
1-1 3pt FG
19 pts
10 assists
12 rebounds(4 offensive)
2 steals and a block
WOW
Ray Allen really softened 'em up for him but still....:thud:

Rondo just keeps getting better and better.

The 29 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists game against the Cavs was just awesome.

In a van...down by the river.

Very good defense. Rivers even put him on Kobe for a little stretch. Imagine the possibilities.....Rondo,Pierce,Garnett(before he got old overnight), and other decently capable defenders.

To be fair Ray Allen isn't a good defender but still, i've always said that i'd prefer to have a starting 5 with only 1 weak link defensively at the expense of some offense.... rather than the other way around.
Thankfully the SUNS seem to be moving away from that philosophy of putting only one solid defender on the floor at a time.

That reminds of KJ on MJ for stretches, with excellent results. And Rondo stole the ball from Kobe dribbling a couple of times in crunch time! :)

What is up with Pierce always shooting off his mouth. Saying they wont return to LA after a 1-1 split is just stupid.

looks like it's the Lakers turn to get all the calls with Rondo, Pierce and Perkins all whistled for two quick fouls in the first.

this series officiating just sucks.

Agreed...the refs are flat out terrible. They are making a potentially great series almost unwatchable. Though, they got to play a bit more freely in the second half which led to the most unwatchable ball thus far; that third quarter was UGLY friggin basketball. Maybe the whistles are better?

Watching this series for a while made me appreciate Suns basketball even more. These Finals are boring.

I'll go a step farther. To quote the great Fred Gwyne in Pet Sematary: "Sometimes dead is better."

Fish pulled Kobe's ass from the fire tonight. Dude's a stone cold killer. Man, Kobe's just got so much talent surrounding him.

A Laker fan complaining about an opposing coach trying to dictate calls is RIDICULOUS with the crap Jackson throws against a wall trying to get something to stick.

yeesh... have some perspective.

I don't know what Rivers is complaining about but i hate what Fisher does to players setting the screen. In his efforts to get a foul called he kinda leans into the guys knee, i don't know why the ref still give him a call for that crap.
