Kobe played much worse than Amare in game 6, but still they won the game. Too bad Ray Allen couldn't maintain his shooting touch, maybe due to fatigue defending Kobe. Artest and Gasol were huge for them.

Anyways, Suns are disintegrating themselves now...

You need to know basketball a little more to appreciate this kind of games. ;)

Kobe had an awful shooting game, yet played great defense (limiting Ray Allen to horrific shooting) and had 15 boards. Amare played a bad shooting game, played horrendous defense and had 4 rebounds. How Amare played "much worse" than Kobe is beyond me. Game's more than about offense, something neither you nor Amare has ever understood.

Kobe was guarding rondo. And allen had open shots anyway, he just went john starks.

Allen and Pierce did not shoot well. Their defense was great, but in the end the Lakers seemed to wear them down and it was ugly.

I wasn't clear as to what scheme the Lakers used, but it seemed like it was a stretch zone. They went after the ball, but fell back to the paint as soon as the ball was passed.

Rivers kept trying to get his guys to run more and pass more. Unforuntately for the Celtics, they got very stagnant instead.

I will give the Celtics credit for making it close. Without Perkins, the Lakers just killed the Celtics on the boards and held Garnett to just three rebounds.

Bottom line, I did not "enjoy" the game. Even the commentators said it had degenerated into a wrestling match. When I think about what basketball should be, I think of the great Bird-Magic games where skill rather than thuggery was highlighted tonight..

Amare's defense in game 6 was very good. What I was referring to is the fact that they went to Kobe or Amare in an attempt to get offense going, but both failed with Kobe making a lot more bad plays than Amare. Allen has been in a shooting funk ever after game 2 heroics. You could say Kobe worn him down with his offense, but it's hardly Kobe's defense on Allen. Not surprisingly, Gasol had a very bad 9 pt(2/9 shooting) 7reb 2ass game in 41 min due to Amare's great defense.

Your hate for Amare seems to know no bound.:bang:

PS: wait, you did agree with me after all! ;)

After watching tonight's game, I think it is important to remember that offense matters too. Come crunch time, it's nice to have someone who forces double teaming so someone else can get open.

Would Jordan have possibly shot so badly in a Finals Game 7? I say no.
Of course we'll never know because Jordan never let it get to a game 7.

It looked like Spurs-Pistons from '05 out there tonight...

His defense was really good that game. His rebounding total was so low because he was on the perimeter in the zone for most of the first half.
