I didn't think you were right, Dew... that overhead view looked like a miss at first while the one after 11 seconds looked like it might have grazed. What I finally noticed in the overhead was the ball rotation changed before it hit the backboard - so I agree with you, the ball did hit the rim.

I certainly don't envy NBA refs. We got to see that in slow motion from multiple angles and it was still a tough call.

I don't think many of us think their job is easy. IMHO the problem is as much the way the rules are written. Too many things are just unclear to anyone.

1. WHEN IS A CHARGE A CHARGE? In theory, the defender has to be in position, but that is not defined. In some cases defenders get called for blocking and other times for charges, yet they look awfully similar. One issue that showed up in the playoffs is that sometimes a guy will get charged with blocking when the offensive player is in the air before the defender'f feet are set (undercutting).

2. HOW MUCH CONTRACT IS OUTLAWED OR JUST INCIDENTAL? Extremely minor contract on guys going to basket get calls but other times pure mugging gets a pass. When is "physical defense" called?

3. WHEN A MOVING SCREEN CALLED AND WHEN IS OBSTRUCTION CALLED? With bigs guys running around, contact is inevidtable.

I thought the 'assface' thing was directed at me but my bad. I withdraw my 'being an ass' comment.

Wouldn't be the first or last time someone uses that emoticon towards me anyways. lol

yo bert, you do know that there's a poster in this forum named "assface," right? that's where the emoticon comes from. it's not meant to be an insult. assface just posts primarily on the cards board.

for a 7 game series, this is has been some really ugly basketball overall. Hoping that Game 7 makes up for the rest of the herky jerky series, but I've got a feeling LA cruises.

Perkins got injured and
Garnett was held to 6 rebounds after 10 in game 5.

Even before the loss of Perkins, the thought about the Lakers' anticipated comeback from a 3-2 deficit, after three games in a row in Boston, was . . . that's why you play every game of the regular season for home court advantage.

The long ass, boring regular season is meant for situations like this.

Lakers will have a whale of a game on their hands tomorrow night.

And I'm ON A FREAKING PLANE FOR THE SECOND HALF!! Biggest game in Lakers history since the 80's and I will be a ball of nerves miles in the sky.

I want to throw up.

Which airline?

Delta has individual screens with multiple TV channels so you could watch the game.

Yeah that Game 6 of the '08 Finals wasn't very big...

Don't make me defend Donald. He never said Game 6 wasn't big, he simply said this was bigger... and it is. That was a desperation game that the team had to win just to force a Game 7. This is a one-game take all, against the team that embarrassed them and stands in the way of them making history.

The only thing in Sports that is bigger than a Game 7 in the NBA Finals is a Super Bowl or a Game 7 World Series. That alone makes it bigger than Game 6 in 2008. The fact that it's Celtics v. Lakers, redemption, legacy, all that stuff is just the cherry on top for Laker fans.

That's exactly why that was one of the biggest games. The Celtics didn't have to win it and they still steamrolled the choking Lakers.

Of course game 7s are big, but the topic was Lakers biggest games, not the whole sporting world's biggest games.

Sheesh, you can't even rub salt in an old Laker wound on a Suns forum without getting chastised?

I just think rubbing salt in Laker fans wounds after they just kicked us in the nuts makes very little sense.

Celtics up 40-34 after the 2nd quarter in game 7. Pretty ugly game so far from the parts that I've watched.

Celtics shooting 44%, Lakers 27%.

Lakers have 15 offensive rebounds.

Lakers started the game like we did in WCF game 6: going to the bigs without much success. The difference is, Artest stepped up for them big so far while nobody did for us.

Go Celtics, beat LA!

Now, Sarver is about to destroy the Suns, I'd need some other things to root for for awhile until Suns get back to respectability again.

Celtics will blow this lead.
However, what in the world is going on with Kobe Bryant?
