What?
Told my wife I knew one of the writers for this show and she called ******** and asked who it was as she skipped to the end to read the credits. I said Cheesebeef, it didn't help me prove my case. Can you PM me your real name or put Cheesebeef in the show credits please. Thanks.

lol. you're likely not going to see scott's name in the credits until the season finale. and i'm pretty sure he's going to be pimpin' the hell outta that ep a week or two in advance on here, so you'll KNOW it's him.

Yeah I've looked for his name in the credits but haven't seen it yet. By the way, how many Shapiros work on these?

Somehow my kids stopped the Tivo recording and the last episode and it only recorded half.

Thankfully I caught it in time and was able to watch the 10pm showing.

Great, this isn't helping me at all right now.

Cheese, you should give AZCards21 a verbatim line from next week's show.

Yes! Good idea!

Tonight, on all new Necessary Roughness, something from everyone's past comes back to haunt them namely, Dani's ex-husband and an old fling of TK's, who's a little off her rocker... or is she? only one way to find out, tune in to USA @ 10 PM EST!

really? if this goes to season two can we expect more of the self-promotion?

keep talking smart guy... i've already killed you once on TV... if you're not careful, next season you may just show up as the starting PG for the Lakers, who's actually a multiple personality drag queen who also moonlights in the off-season as the Center for the LA Sparks.

Um, yes please! LOL!

I havent seen the last three episodes but I have the last two on DVR and plan to watch them this weekend. For some reason the poker episode didnt save, so I will have to search the internet for it.

I hope Dani and the guy from Gilmore Girls have more interaction... :)

I don't know who the guy from Gilmore Girls is, but I hope it's Nico. I'm telling ya, Dani will end up with Nico. He's a great guy and just the kind of grounded male role model the kids need. And Cheese's silence when I mentioned the idea means it will happen :D

OK, finally caught an episode -- very entertaining and intelligent, some really good characters, and as a psychologist, (one reason I've sort of put off watching) I appreciated at least the faint nod to keeping professional boundaries. Wish they were running some of the back episodes during the week so I could catch up a bit on who's who and what's happened.

Have to say, I also just saw a couple episodes of Suits, and if anything that show hooked me even more strongly right off the bat.

Cheese, what do you know about USA Network and who's running their programming? USA is on such a roll! I love Covert Affairs and White Collar, and now can add in two more well-written, well-cast, smooth, ironic, intelligent shows.

Nico IS the guy from Gilmore Girls. He was a pleasant character that had a short-lived relationship with the Mom of the GG's and was a favorite teacher of the daughter. No matter what kind of role he plays he always seems to come across as a likable person.

i know this much about the peeps over at USA... they know exactly what their brand is and they do it very well. They're notes are usually right on the money, which is saying A TON compared to other networks I've worked with.

tonight on an all new NECESSARY ROUGHNESS, In between brokering peace between a golf whiz kid and his angry caddie, Dani reignites a relationship with an old flame... and TK begins a new relationship of his own... with world reknowned self-help guru Laz Rollins, played by the incomparable Orlando Jones!

Eh, the old flame storyline was pretty blah to me. I'm really hoping that the only point to it was the 'get rid of the ring' business. I don't want it to get into the 'Dani's boytoy flavor of the week' show. Otherwise it was a pretty good episode.

Yeah the whole you have to get rid of the unlucky ring thing was kind of silly and I wasn't feeling the whole clutz thing whenever she saw the old teacher. Not to mention the crazy friend who just met Spanish guy but can barely speak Spanish so I'm moving to Spain story line. Although I guess it fits the character of that wild friend. Just seemed a little over the top.

Least favorite episode so far but still entertaining and for some reason I was craving a 7 Up after watching it.

Amanda's (Jeanette) pilot got picked up... thus she needed to move away. But all points well taken and understood.

but thanks for the continued support and keep watching! the season seriously starts building steam from here on in right up to the explosive season finale co-written by a certain message board poster you all know and love/loathe!

TMQ wrote about your show...

"FNL Yields to Necessary Roughness: Before there were 500 channels, the "summer series" -- a show that ran in summertime because it failed to make the prime-time cut -- was a divertissement of television. The summer series could be awful or really clever. One of the greatest series ever -- "Police Squad!" -- was relegated to summer status after network executives failed to get the joke. (Everyone else did.)

Lately the summer series has made a comeback. This summer's best is the USA Network show "Necessary Roughness." The series is unrelated to the 1991 film, but like that movie, takes place in the football artificial universe. In "Necessary Roughness," it's always autumn, leaves are always turning, players are always taping their ankles, flashy nightclub parties are always starting and the bumbling New York Hawks are always desperate for a victory. The show is told from the perspective of a woman psychologist who provides cognitive therapy for the Hawks' egotistical-but-lovable stars. As everyone knows, pro football players spend their free time trying to get in touch with their feelings!

"Necessary Roughness" is clever, charming and entertaining, and the cast seems to be having fun, plain old fun being in short supply on the contemporary tube landscape. Football realism isn't a priority. The Hawks' grouchy-but-lovable coach exclaims, "We haven't made the playoffs in six years, we've got to win this game." If the Hawks hadn't made the playoffs in six years, the coach would already be out of a job. "
