He's going to be around for a long time (I assume) so he has time to change the narrative, but right now his impact has been tremendously negative.
Sarver took over a team with immense potential and slowly ruined them through penny pinching and meddling... Ishbia took over a team with immense potential and immediately destroyed it by making one horrendous, short term thinking, mistake after another.
I appreciate his ambition and his commitment, he wants it far more than Sarver ever seemed to. He wants to make the fan experience better, he wants to treat the players as well as possible... all commendable. However, he has done more damage to the on-court product in a couple years than Sarver managed to pull off in nearly his first decade... and we are not even close to seeing the end of the collapse.
I really hope he takes these first few, utterly ruinous, seasons as a teaching moment, I want to like him, but he needs to stop with the "I listen to Isiah Thomas" vibe he gives off when it comes to the roster.
