I didn't get my initial $1,000, either. :( I'm at 875 now, but started with less. I have done no betting.

As I said - we are still tweaking things so bear with us...

We now know why you got less and (some others got a little extra) - it'll be fixed soon :raccoon:

Hey! Ad-free, right? What is a Toshiba ad doing smack dab in the MIDDLE of a thread, then? That's new and intrusive.

I don't give a hoot about A$FN dollars, being unlikely to ever bet (and having no idea how to) -- I signed up to contribute because ASFN is valuable to me, and because of one huge benefit, and that was the 'Advertisement-FREE' part of the deal.

Here's a thought -- could full-year contributors maybe have a (non-commercial) smiley of their choice added to the pack? There's a bunch in the pack now that are wasted space, and some awfully good ones out there.

Sorry about that! - I got the usergroup id mixed up and for the last hour banned members didn't get ads and ASFN Contributors did! :bang:

Fixed now

Yes! in the next week or two we will be adding a new set of very cool sports animations / icons to be used by ASFN Contributors in posts and in their personal signatures.

Bear with us - we are still tweaking the A$FN (i.e. vcash) system.

I can see you now got the A$FN 1,000 bonus for becoming an ASFN Contributor - you will get a A$FN 1,000 bonus every month from now on.:raccoon:

Ok am I misunderstanding? You stated that to make it more fair for the other posters who dont contribute they will be given an extra 1,000 every 30 days.

Now for contributing members we were given an extra 1,000 initially and will be given 1,000 every 30 days after that just like the people who dont contribute?

We were told we would be getting a 10,000 bonus for helping the site? Now it is really only 1,000?

You are misunderstanding me - but maybe I am not being clear enough.

Here are the A$FN rules:
  1. Regular members get A$FN 1,000 one time - that's it.
  2. ASFN Contributors get a bonus on top of what Regular members get. This bonus was originally going to be a one-time-per-year of A$FN 10,000. But we then decided to brake it down into a monthly bonus of A$FN 1,000 (which makes A$FN 12,000 a yr). The reason for the monthly breakdown of the bonus is that some ASFN Contributors subscribe on a monthly basis (as opposed to yearly) and it made the system setup for the bonus easier this way.
Now because we haven't had much experience with the system that manages the A$FN, as we were tunning the set-up, some members (Contributors and Regulars) got initially a bit less of what they should have gotten, and then a bit extra. We've fixed those that got a bit less, and some lucky ones were left with an extra A$FN 100-200.

Hope that helps and everything is clear now! And thanks for your support!!

You want those above added, or just more accessible? Either way - we can probably do that. Let us know and we'll put it on our list.

Well, I'd love those added -- these are the family-friendly ones, of course. But what do you mean by 'more accessible'? As it is, I go to the website and copy, or type in the info if I remember it. Is there something in between adding them to the pack and hand-entering each time?

I'm sure other people have some particular smilies they'd like, though, which is why I was thinking contributors might get some say as another small perk. (Maybe we could also vote on which ones to dump, since some are pretty lame and the full smiley page is getting crowded. Does it ever sort according to frequency of use? That'd be cool.)

Thanks

They own ASFN now. Israeli high-tech company that operates a series of successful-enough-to-be-splitting-their-home-made-britches, local interest /special interest websites. Like this one, where it was just too much to be a pure mom-n-pop operation much longer.

Keebali means 'Because I feel like it' in Hebrew slang, according to an Israeli friend of mine.

so the cardinals fan site is now operated by the middle east?

Yes, there is no change to the free access. A membership access gives you no ads, a bigger PM box and other benefits. But being a regular member here stays free and you can post all you want.

One more question as I want to know all aspects before I spend any money. If I want to get out of it after one year, would I just PM an owner or how might I go about doing it? I don't want to be locked into anything, although I don't think I'm going anywhere.
