I'm not much of an NBA fan most of the time but I watched a lot of Lakers basketball during their 3-peat years(a buddy is a huge Lakers fan). Last year I was really pulling for Phoenix and became a Steve Nash fan. I never like him when he was with Dallas but for some reason, it just clicked for me last year. Guy's a stud.

With Shaq coming over, I'm excited to start watching some NBA again(I refuse to watch the Lakers because of Kobe(for many reasons)). Nash wasn't enough by himself for me to watch but I'm pretty excited to see how this combo works.

I can't count the number of times Shaq would get position under the basket and no one would get him the ball and he'd have to vacate his spot. Actually, that's something that I haven't seen mentioned is Shaq's passing/awareness. He's one of the better passers in my opinion and it will be interesting to me to see how he and Nash co-exist in that regard.

But, my question for you guys is what is the 3 point shooting like for the Suns? I think that's always a consideration for Shaq's teams. When there's no threat of a 3 point game, Shaq get's swarmed and it nullifies his presence.

The suns 3-point shooters are always among the league leaders. This year the suns as a team and even individually are down a little bit. However, with the Shaq signing one would certainly expect these percentages to come up.

Well with Shawn not shooting 33% from 3 anymore, our 3pt shooting should go up anyways.
To answer the main question....Steve Nash, Raja Bell & Leandro Barbosa are 3 of the best 3pt shooters in the league.

Nash shoots 47.1% on 106-225 3pt shooting (last year shot 45.5%)
Barbosa shoots 38.3% on on 106-277 3pt shooting (last year shot 43.4%)
Bell shoots 38.4% on 104-271 3pt shooting (last year shot 41.3%)

Grant Hill is shooting 35% from 3pt land, but doesn't take many (26-74).

in miami, only jwill and wade (and probably quinn) knows how to pass to shaq and to look for shaq. the others remaining will look to shoot first. there were games where he's totally ignored on the offense and get 2-3 touches, not shots, touches at most in a quarter, it's amazing...

Suns fans are aware of shaqs passing ability and are very optimistic to see him contribute to our already great passing team.

Whenever shaq is open below the rim he will get his pass.

Our 3 point shooters are one of the reasons shaq was ecstatic to come here. He calls us "The Land of Shooters." One of our main 3 ballers has been dealing with nagging injuries most of the year, but he seems to be picking up the pace now.
