And if by chance Quinn and Bowers are both gone, that means peterson is on the board.

And you take him. And run. Flat. Out. Stud.

Dollar to a Donut this team will NOT take Peterson.

I love it when you fixate on one guy.

yep... but my guy shows it. :p

I don't think there is a chance he'd be there because I think Denver gobbles him up, but yeah...that's my guy in this draft.

If they want BPA they sure as hell would.

That is debatable as the day is long. But I truly believe this team knows and understands that they NEED some freaking pass rush more than anything. THAT MUST BE FIXED!

That must be fixed, i agree.

But DRC kinda blows. I wouldn't reach for a pass rusher over PP. (edit: as pariah says..if PP is there it is because the best pass rushers were selected ahead of him).

And neither Toler nor DRC can do anything to stop WR's the caliber of Mike Williams in SEA. That makes my stomach hurt.

Ugh, Mike Williams murdered our secondary. Just made them look like weak little pansy fools.

Thanks for the mid afternoon pick me up.

Trade down and get Sam Acho (or up in the 2nd depending how he is rated on draft day). Pass rush fixed. He's a twin to Orakpo who only has 19.5 sacks in his two seasons with Washington.

You can't go wrong drafting a former Longhorn. As long as he wasn't a running QB at Texas or can't walk down stairs. :bang:

Who's taking whom? You can't just throw those out there...

1. Carolina Panthers - Fairley, DT, Auburn. I don't care how much they like Nick Hayden. Fairley's a stud.
2. Denver Broncos - DaQuan Bowers, DE, Clemson. Pass rushers always go high. This'll be a value pick for Denver, especially if they hire John Fox, who knows that he can pair Bowers with returning DE/OLB Elvis Dumervil and scare the pants off Phillip Rivers.
3. Buffalo Bills - Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina. I hope this happens. NT Kyle Williams lead the Bills in sacks this season with 5.5. Aaron Maybin has been a colossal bust for them.
4. Cincinnati Bengals - Maybe A.J. Green? I don't know how committed they are to T.O. or Ochocinco. If Blaine Gabbert checks out he might be the pick here. They certainly have cornerbacks you can go to war with.

So at 5 you're left with both cornerbacks, either A.J. Green or Blaine Gabbert, and 2 4-3 DEs in Marcel Dareus and Adrian Clayborn. Three if you want to look a little further down the board at Allen Bailey.

No way in the world do the Bengals take a QB #1 now that they brought back Marvin Lewis. He's trying to keep his job long term. Wasting a top pick on a guy who is going to ride the bench since they already said Palmer will be back next year, is no way to win games for Lewis.

They are not coming after him. If they were, they would have done it already. It is much better for the NCAA to levy penalties before the games are played and awards given than to take them away afterwards.

The NCAA was very careful in their wording for his reinstatement (sp?). They said they didn't have enough evidence "AT THIS TIME" meaning they can go back to it at a later time if they found out he did.

Remember that they just punished Reggie Bush LAST YEAR. He left for the NFL how long ago?

I am going to save everyone some time.

The Cardinals will be trading down in this draft. Maybe even for 2012 picks. And maybe those same picks wil go to Philly for Kevin Kolb once the CBA is signed and trades can be made.

I still like Cam, but this last game wasn't his best. I saw a lot of bad reads and poorly thrown balls. I am with everyone that says he will fall out of Top 5 after this game.

But I don't see the Cardinals picking at #5. Especially not with the myriad of needs and a QB hungry team wanting to get into that spot. They will use that money saved for FA I am hoping.

It's all well and good to say that the Cardinals will trade down, but people say this each year like you can just opt to trade down and get more picks. There needs to be a team willing to give up things to move to that point, and they have to have a reason to want to move up. Odds are, if there's a team that would want to move up to #5 to get a QB that fits that spot, we'd be best off picking that QB instead.

I agree that Newton has slipped out of the top 5, but I just can't envision us moving back from the #5 pick.

I think Newton was pretty hurt in that game, especially the second half. His throwing motion looked uncomfortable, and even his runs were much different.
In his other games you didn't really see him diving for the first down markers, he was looking for the end zone every touch. If we don't take Cam at #5 we can still trade down and see if he is still around.
If we get a Vet and plan on bringing Skelton along, Newton is the best talent in the draft at QB.
Skelton IMO is already light years ahead of Gabbert. Playing QB for the Cards this year should have been on that "Most Hazardous Jobs". Skelton did a great job for a rookie taking the pressure he did with our O-line and not turning it over. I don't see Gabbert being a first round need with Skelton looking promising.
Newton brings a completely different skill set than Skelton/Gabbert. He can make up for our O-line with his run threat, even after he gets coached to chill out on it. Newton can make the throws, he didn't look good that game, I admit that.

Like, what evs. I guess you didn't read my post Jimmy da Skimmy. If we bring in a Vet and with Skelton already having a couple notches on his belt, it is good stuff. Plus if Newton develops quicker than what some people(looking at the flipfloppers here) think, he can compete for the start.
If Skelton goes all pimp mode, Newton is still a great commodity in the trade market.
I just don't want to count on a Vet long term, you can't even see down the road three years. Your kung fu has slipped with each Cardinal loss.:D
