The Rams completely revamped their defense this year, in one draft. Seattle did it in a couple of drafts with Woolen, Witherspoon and some young linemen and edges. We got Garrett Williams and I still have hopes for D Rob, we NEED to hit on multiple defensive picks next year.

This is maybe the deepest draft for IDL in a couple of decades. It's also decent for edge guys. If one of the two Michigan DTs fall to us we should draft them in a heartbeat.

There are other really good ones as well.

Agreed where we will be picking there's no excuse for not getting a guy who can make an immediate impact but we have to hit on multiple guys.

I should add someone mentioned Melton, yes, also I like Rabbit, I could see him starting over Thompson next year.

So I think if we have a really solid draft next year, we can see a sizable jump in the defense. Warner even said it today, the Cards defense with an elite pass rusher would be so much better.

That’s where we need to spend in free agency. We need a proven pass rusher. The Eagles Josh Sweat looks intriguing and there are others.
Bring someone like him in and suddenly a couple of our starters are now back ups giving us great depth.

I'm hoping we draft an edge that can pass rush, that Ojulari comes back healthy and better(big if) and that we add another one either in the draft or FA.

By the time you get to where we are drafting you are looking at Jalen Milroe or Quinn Ewers at best. Sorry, no thanks.

Shadeur Sanders is the second best player on his own college team. Giving a ransom to move up for him or Ward is lunacy.

Yes, I'm high on both Mad Max and Rabbit.

The first two drafts, where we had the chance to take complete and utter game changers at 3 and 4, with a bajillion picks should have been huge for Monti. Expecting anything huge in a draft where there aren’t no-brainers at our picks and in a draft where we have even less picks than the previous two years is an exercise in futility.

Agreed although in hindsight, I'm ok with the PJJ pick, I would have taken Anderson but I'm ok with that pick. ANd I'm now good with Garrett williams over Achane, I love Achane and his speed would be huge on our team, but a good CB is more important than a good RB who's hurt quite a bit.

This draft I think we did ok, D Rob will make or break this draft IMO. Marv underwhelming but good player will eventually be really good I think. I'm good with Rabbit, Melton, Reiman is a good blocker. So I'm ok with this draft too.

But the next draft he HAS to hit on at least 2 of the early picks with good defensive players, we HAVE to come out of the draft and FA having added at least one edge and one DL that can impact right away.

I’m not okay passing up Defensive Player Of The Year type talent for an OT that isn’t even the 3RD best OT… IN HIS OWN DRAFT, much less the rest of the league.

When you have the 3rd pick in the draft, you need a superstar. Not an okay LT and magic beans.

I know it's early, and he's had a weird season, but Robinson looks like the Zaven Collins of defensive linemen to me. Having both of them out there at the same time all but guarantees a clean pocket for the other QB.

I would have taken Will myself but I'm ok with the pick because I think that's how they wanted to build their team, strengthen the OL. Given Hump's injury I think had we not picked PJJ we probably are REALLY hurting at OT .

I admit I've watched less of other teams this season because I've been overseas but who are the OT's in the 23 draft that are better than PJJ?

Honestly if you asked me right now to redo the draft I'd probably say the best player from the draft in the first 2 years is Devon Witherspoon, then Will

I saw him make a really nice play in the backfield on a RB today and again, teams continue to block him with more than 1 guy. Even on the tackle in the backfield he beat 2 guys. But yes so far we're not seeing pass rush from him

I think we should take a chance on Jason Dart

Probably a 3rd or 4th round pick

I'm with you, I'll be watching what he does in Free Agency as much (if not more) as the draft. If he sits on cap space again I'm gonna be so pissed lol

Same goes for FA. The whole offseason is huge for Monti.

I'll say one thing, DRob showed me nothing last night. Or, should I say, nothing good. I saw him at DT and he just got blown off the ball several times. That said, I can't always see who is who, so please let me know if I missed anything.

Yeah, I will be concerned with DRob heading into next season. Is it fair to judge him yet, given his lengthy injury? Perhaps not, but I can't help but be worried when he's getting blown five yards off the ball routinely. I saw some ugly tendencies from DRob last night.
