our coaches need to have us ready. what do you think?

No way it's a trap. This game was too sloppy and the raiders did us a favor and almost beat the Chargers. That serves as more than a wake up call.

I think this team is far to scrappy and has way too much desire to win to fall into any traps. If we lose it will be because we got beat not because we took them lightly.

I would say that their Super Bowl was today against the hated division rival and they blew it and now all the wind will be out of their sales

Oakland is an all around bad team. Like 2-14 bad. They make Washington look like Seattle. Plus, I'm sure Palmer and Veldheer will want to win this game for personal reasons and wont let anyone take the day off.

Unless security lets their knife-wielding fans onto the field, we should be fine.

I'm sure that Palmer and Veldeer are not overlooking the Raiders. If asked they'll probably say it's like any other game but you know they've had that one circled.

This plus Carson going back there... And Arians has plenty to chew on after today's game, which while was great to get a W, was super sloppy.

I dunno about this. Carson just doesnt strike me as a vindictive person. He wanted out of Oakland and he got his wish. Maybe he just wants to win no matter the opponent .

This cards team is way to good to fall to a poor Raiders team. Our defense is better than the chargers and like mentioned previously, SD is a conference team so there is always that extra surge to beat them. Raiders are a mess

It's not about being vindictive, it's about playing a former team and not overlooking them. I don't think there's a player in the league who has games against their former team circled on the calendar. Of course he wants to win no matter the opponent but he's going to be up for this game. It's not going to be a trap.

This game suddenly doesn't look as easy as it did a few weeks ago. Interested to see what the line will be.

Agreed, but in my opinion can easily, easily be forgiven considering the reps Carson didn't get in practice. What Carson did today was nothing short of amazing taking into consideration the rust that had to be shaken off.

Their not just a conference team, their a division team.

I don't think you need to really worry about this game. Like I said about the Redskins game, the Cardinals will have to intentionally try to lose in order to lose to Oakland. Their the worst team in football for a reason.

The Chargers sucked against them cause it was in Oakland and a division rivalry. Plus the Chargers defense was awful and didn't bother showing up.

Rivers and co lit up the Raiders "defense". I suspect Palmer will do the same exact thing.

If Brandon Oliver went off for 125 total yards and a TD, imagine what Andre Ellington will do to this team.

Quit worrying, us fans are allowed to overlook opponents, the players and coaches on the other hand are PAID to not do that.

I would think that Derek Carr listened to the media and expected to be drafted by Arizona. So I feel that he wants to show that SK made a mistake by passing on him. My hope is that the team will be down after 'blowing' the SD game.

The Buccaneers are so bad... you forgot to even include them as the worst team :)

It still has the possibility for a trap game. No matter how poorly the Raiders are playing you can't just show up and expect to win.

Keep them focused BA

You never know, but in my opinion, this will not be a trap game.

I think Carson Palmer and Veldheer will have something to say to the team about what this game means to them.

This upcoming Raiders game is one that our very own Ye Olde Timey Cards would have completely laid an egg.

We'll see how much the culture has really changed a week from now.

GEEZ....

for the last time-- why would palmer and veldeer have such ill will towards the raiders, because they used to play for them? GMAB, people act like this is some sort of revenge game for those two.

people.. Oakland is a professional football team and the Cardinals have to take their MASH unit on the road, something that is never easy in this league.

Because Palmer took a pay cut to help improve the team and they did nothing to improve the team and Veldheer and the raiders GM didn't quite see the way he left the same. (I believe Veldheer said they lowballed him) Plus they are both human and it is human nature to want to show your old job that they made a mistake in not wanting you around.

I'm not saying that there is a burning hatred from either of these guys but I would be shocked if they fell into a trap with this game....or let their team mates fall into one either.

Hey! Freebyrd...

Excellent topic. I would say this...beating ANYONE in the NFL on the road is tough! Bad team or not. The 'zebras" get their hankies flying, etc. and who knows what can happen. (ie; Washington game seemed pretty biased against us...pretty surprising since we were the "home" team.)

I heard an interesting comment re: the Redskins getting "calls" many years ago. A lot of the people that make our "policy decisions" in DC are Redskin fans. Do you really want them showing up for work all angry and upset after a Sunday loss? Probably NOT!

So, is Oakland a "trap" game? Yeah, I'd agree but we have to play hard every week to have a chance to win anyway. Meantime, 4-1 and alone in 1st place is pretty sweet!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

MARK IN SC :)

"BASK"-ing. :D
