On the scrolling ticker at the bottom it says that the Cards offense is 3rd in the NFL averaging 7.09 yards per offensive play.

I know were only two weeks in but that's pretty impressive average so far.

but all of our success was because of Haley and Warner! :D

always wanted to post one of those sarcastic comments.

seriously, Wiz may not be able to coach his way out of a paper bag on D, but i think it's folly to believe the guy can't coach offense. Seeing as Haley's had a pretty up and down career since leaving and Warner couldn't jack, Wiz deserves some credit for having a solid offensive mind... as infuriating as it can sometimes be.

Totally agree.

It's also one of the reasons we're getting killed in Time of Possession. We're scoring WAY too quickly.

Imagine if this team has ONE legitimate pass rusher at OLB. We'd kill most of the teams we face this year.

Since this thread is titled NFL, I just want say I've had just about all of Rich Eisen I can handle. His recap show of the games borders on the juvenile. Dude's a tool, imo.

You take a score, whenever you can get a score...the idea of scoring too quickly is beyond me (like you really have the option in the NFL to dictate when you will score). The only time it hurts, is when you score too late lol. But you are absolutely right about a pass rush Krang

It's not even scoring too quickly that's the problem, the problem is that when we need a critical drive to eat some time and move the ball and score again we can't do it. If we're talking strictly offense, that is the only issue on offense. They've had to punt way too many times in critical situations.

At this rate, Haley will be back on the team next year.
I know you were joking, but that offense has gone into the tank ever since Weis left. And it's with virtually the same personnel. I know there were a few of us who have always thought people were giving Haley way too much credit. The fact is, no matter who the OC is, they are running Whiz's offense.

I know I'm going to get hammered but I don't think the OT's are as bad as people let on. I'm not saying they're great, but I think they are average. Brown will get beat early on and then usually seems to settle in and have a decent game. But people notice that early sack and then "he sucks" the rest of the game because people remmeber that. I may be the only person here who likes Keith. I think he's going to turn out to be a good one if he stays healthy. The OL is run blocking a ton better this year, thank you Colledge over Faneca, and and will get better in pass protection. It will take a little time to work with a new QB and his tendencies as well. Some sacks are on Kolb not being in the right place either and those things will work themselves out over time. You want a bad OL, look at Chicago, they can't run or pass block. But that may because of Martz's scheme too.

I don't think it makes any difference scoring too fast. The Rams from 1999-2001 had the #1 offense every year. Their Defense was top 10 in '99, bottom 10 in 2000, and top 10 again in 2001.

It's been like that since Whiz took over.

I've got his back.
He was just starting to turn it around last year and now he's gotta get confidence back on his leg.
It'll take time, no doubt, but I still believe he can be part of the solution.
