Was at the game today… Yea, there were the normal allotment of annoying 9er fans. But I guess I’ve gotten used to that after all these years.
Today was one of the ugliest NFL games I’ve witnessed in quite some time. Painful to watch…
Our defense was pretty stout all day. Watt, Budda, Simmons and Lawrence all stood out to me. JJ in particular was a beast all day. And coming mostly from the inside, where he was often double-teamed, and still living in the backfield was something to see!
I remain in an odd place with Kyler. I just can’t get completely comfortable with him… Today, to me, was a set-back for him. He looked unsure, unsteady, and indecisive for most of the game. Yes, he’s still young and still learning, but I would think he’d be better at making pre-snap reads on a more frequent basis so that he’s not caught off guard once he takes the snap.
MAJOR BUMMER to see Maxx go down. That looked seriously ugly.
MAJOR BUMMER to see Rodney Hudson go down too. Losing Hudson would be a borderline catastrophic blow to our o-line.
Hopefully Isiah will be ok and ready to go next week.
Zeke Turner also left the game, which would be a blow to our special teams if he’ll be out for any length of time.

I have no idea what Kliffy’s game plan was today for the offense… but any criticism of the offense today needs to start with him. He clearly did not have the team properly prepared. Thank God we were facing a QB making his first NFL start.
Kliff and the team will need play significantly better next week, or risk being blown out by Cleveland…

Niners had a lot of holding calls that killed drives. Cards couldn’t get off the field when the niners had 20 yards to go. That won’t happen against the Browns. Nice to see Collins making plays though

Give the 49er's credit. They had a designed plan to keep Kyler in the pocket. I'm afraid they exposed a blueprint on how to slow us down.

Kliff is going to have to come up with a couple of different wricnkles going forward.

He’s got to convince kyler to step up into the pocket and scramble inside out. I know kyler doesn’t like the inside run bc he can’t get outta bounds to protect himself but the spin outs are being taken away. He’s got to adjust.

I see you point but what I saw was the 49ers getting decent push up the middle with perfect gap leaving nowhere to run.
However , to your point if he steps up he’s able to throw it away rather than a 13 yard sack.

That catch by Rondale goes in the history books. That kid definitely has the “it” factor. If we don’t maximize his opportunities shame on us.

The throw was pretty amazing as well, but the catch was even more impressive.

Man. The Cards are 5-0. We are not going to win every game. We are not going to dominate every game. We just won a huge game. This was a let down game and it was a division rival. And we held them to 10 points. We are going to have some sub par games. She Shan knows how we play. Next week against Cleveland will be a big game.

Not every team has the 49ers Dline. However, against the 49ers he needs to do what he did week 1 of last year. Run the ball.

And do it by stepping up in the pocket.
