One of those starts was in April and one was when the Dodgers couldn't win a game. Godley was the better player this season. The Dodgers blowing us out in game 1 with their ACE on the mound is just what they needed.

Win game 2 and I’m fine coming home 1-1

WTF was the point of starting Walker if Godley is pitching in the 2nd inning? Wasted opportunity to steal Game 1.

Lovullo is doing his best BA impression trying to "out-smart" the opposition. Let your best players play. RJ and Schilling carried us in '01 playoffs on little rest.

Don’t see that. I honestly feel like Torey is playing for a split and giving them game 1. Ray will be pitching on short rest anyway in game 2. Greinke gets game 3. We’ll have the pitching advantage In those two games.

So glad we had Mathis behind the plate to spike a throw to 2B and advance Turner. FFS. This series is likely over if they lose tomorrow. Gonna be tough to win out when Dodgers have confidence and momentum cruising in Game 1.

It's still just 4 runs too. It's not out of reach yet. Godley held them, so hopefully the 2nd time through the order the bats will heat up.

Very much debatable

Not only is Descalso the right call because of his experience, but defensively as well. Two plays already tonight show that... Drury is in outer space. On the relay at home, it was like he didn't even realize Bellinger was running... he caught the ball from AJ and then was surprised Bellinger was on his way home. And then proceeds to throw the ball into the ground, bouncing 3 times before it reached Mathis! [emoji15]
And then on Mathis' overthrow to second base where Marte was covering, it was Drury's responsibility to back up the play... and he failed to be there.

It's never a good idea to concede Game 1. Especially in this way. No way Walker should have started and Iannetta should be catching. I'd even think about putting Lamb at the bottom of the order since he's been hot lately.
