That being said if TW can hold down the fort to the tune of like 5-6 innings and 2 or less runs, that’d be pretty solid. He doesn't have to be perfect, that's kind of an unreasonable expectation.

If we had middle inning relievers we could count on. Torey Lovullo's proclamation about starters being counted on to go seven innings was said for a reason. All we'd need are Archie and Rodney for every save situation. Hell, we couldn't even count on our ace to give us anywhere near seven innings in our first post season game.

Our fate is in the hands of our hitters. Namely, JD and/or Goldy and whoever else steps up. And to a much lesser degree, our defense. Pitching? The hitting and defense will have to make up for them. Game after game.

I think whoever goes against Kershaw is going to be the sacrificial lamb. After that, I'll take the Dbacks staff over LA's. If Kershaw can't win Gm1, it could be a quick series.

I was thinking the same thing. Who on the Dbacks pitching staff is the weakest link- Walker. Dbacks are (in a way) conceding the first game bc of facing Kershaw, but if they can get a good outing by Walker, its a bonus. Just need Jansen to never be used (which could be a bad thing too)
