I'm gonna withhold until Warner either re-signs, retires or signs on somewhere else before making any premature comments.

Interesting game of chicken going on here...I think Warner will blink first.

I would tend to agree.

No matter how good Warner was last season, I can't envision too many teams lining up to give him the money he's asking for.

Further, with the Vikings recently giving up their 4th for Sage Rosenfels, I'm drawing blanks trying to think of teams which would be a fit for him. At this stage in the game, I can't imagine he wants to go on a team that's rebuilding. I think he'd sign for the league minimum here before he'd sign a monsterous contract with a team like Detroit or Chicago.

Warner's agent is delusional if he thinks the lack of options and Warner's known preference to stay in AZ doesn't factor into the offer. Being stubborn is only delaying the inevitable.

Not mention Warner has very explicitly stated he does not want to uproot his family again. I am not convinced there is a huge market for him.

I'd be surprised to see him sign a big money contract somewhere.

Here's the thing: the more Warner put forth the "Arizona or Retirement" talks, the more he may have cost himself.

Don't think Warner's loyal remarks were the best to make if he wanted to make the payday his agent's calling for. Teams will look at this as Arizona bidding against themselves.

Exactly...it's like the Manny situation. There are no other suitors, so no need to bid against yourself.

Cardinals have the edge here. Warner won't play for another team and move his family. The Cardinals also have Leinart, who is a capable QB, especially with Fitz.

Don't overpay him Graves.

He's got a market, the question is how many of those teams will Warner have legitimate interest.

Don't think the Lions wouldn't salivate over the chance to bring him in. However, do you think Kurt wants to finish his career getting his ass kicked in Detroit?

The Jets? They're facing the possibility of having Kellen Clemens or Erik Ainge as their starting QB next season.. Nuff said. Again though, does Warner turn down the Cards for the Jets? I doubt it.

Chicago? See above.

Kansas City? Again...

Really, there's a market of teams in need of a QB, however not all of them will be places Warner would have much interest in.

Ehh.. It's early yet. Don't get too prematurely upset, I still think Warner will remain in Arizona.

Nope. Both sides are at fault. I am going to save one comment about this offseason once free agency runs its course.

But there is running theme with this team as it leaves the 2008 season, and goes into the 2009 season........hopefully I am wrong about what I am seeing but as I said we will see.

Both Graves and Warner ........... forget it. Bring on free agency and lets see what happens.

I agree.

TB has so much cap room, it isnt even funny. They have to be the front runner right for many of the top FAs.

If the Cardinals give Warner more than $10 million per year, they got screwed big time. He is worth $8 million a year.

I agree that it does not make sense for the Cardinals to cave and overpay Warner.

I still think the most likely scenario is that Warner will sign for pretty much what the Cardinals originally offered after the open market is not terribly giving.

Either way, it's time for me to check out. It's been interesting talking with you guys over the last couple seasons.

There's still an offer sitting on the table, correct?

If so, what is it? 2 years $20M? 2 years $24m? One year $10M? One year $12M? Whatever it is I'm certain he will decide to stay a Cardinal after FA. I think he just wants to see what else is out there. We should keep the offer on the table and look at signing Dansby, Q, and FA's. I'm not too worried about Warner's final decision.

Tampa Bay is more of a logical fit than some of the other teams looking, however Warner would be heading to a drastically different offense than the one he has in Glendale.

He'd be going from Fitz, Boldin and Breaston to Maurice Stovall and Antonio Bryant.

That's akin to going from an intercoursial relationship with Marisa Miller to a similar one with Rosie O'Donnell. Even if the Bucs take a WR in the first round, that offense is still Rosie O'Donnell, albeit her after a round of tequila shots. While she may look slightly better in an inebriated state, the next morning she's still a dog.
