Leinart just didn't want to start a qb contraversy.:)

Maybe he is the qb of the future maybe not, but right now he is our backup and he did not give this game away. I just hope Kurt is ok and we have him for next week, if not Matt will have a whole week to prepare and then a more fair judgement can be passed.

Wiz calling it safe SAYS EVEN MORE then the lack of production.
I think Whis has very obviously decided to bring Leinart along slowly and steadily. Having to yank Leinart again today would have been disastrous for his confidence in himself and the team's confidence in him.
Did you see Q going off on the sideline after a checkdown resulted a punt...
I thought he was going off because Becht fumbled the ball?
It is not like he is a first or second year guy.
But he is a guy who has a grand total of 5 starts in this offense the last two years.

My pleasure Cbus-----I don't mind complaining when it is deserved, but to hear it before the guy even gets into the game like the first few posters on this thread is ridiculous.

dude on this board and among my friends/family I am known as the President of Leinarts fan club AKA his towel boy.

I will tell you this: If I am watching a game and saying there is no positive to take away from it as him being the future of the franchise.....well there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Because if I saw it, I would have spoke to it. It just ain't there. And having to admit I was wrong since the kids junior year of college plain ol' sucks. But if he is going to have success, i think its safe to say it won't be on this team.

I am not saying the sky is falling, being too reactive or anything. As long as Kurt is healthy I still see us going to the Super Bowl.

But Matt should have played well tonight and he didn't. And at this point of his career he should have. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Leinart did not bring home the win... Warner's first half and defense did.

God, you guys have blinders on

The defense also let them into the game. Letting Jackson have that big run, having the Rams convert on 3 straight 4th downs on ONE DRIVE, etc

We won this game because of OUR RUNNING GAME which opened up the pass. Warner had a good first half and Leinart had a conservative 2nd half (which is what I expect from a backup QB who gets basically zero snaps with the first during practice during the week).

You want to judge Matt then wait for a game where he starts or comes in without a big lead and conservative playcalling.

I'm impressed moklerman, you have done a total 180 on Leinart.

I see you trying to be even handed here and I don't buy it. Secretly I think you are very happy that your boy looked like the HOF and the back up that many have touted (including me) looked overmatched.

Thats fine. PLEASE KW lead us to the Super Bowl. I am okay with being wrong. I will evaluate Matt with an open mind going forward but if he is what I thought he is, he would have played well this game. And he didn't.

Lets keep Kurt healthy and worry about it come the offseason.

He did, he was so POed he kept his distance from Becht. Boldin didn't look pissed at Leinart or the coaches.

Then he went up to Leinart, patted him on the shoulder and said something in his ear, I am willing to bet it was something like, "Get me the ball", Boldin looked like he was gonna carry the offense on his back if given the chance.

Let's hope we don't have to do that... that will not be a good sign for the team meaning Warner's out for a game or more.

Listen closely-----No one said that Leinart broght home a win, we said he PRESERVED a win, and that, (after all), is his job right now. He did not throw the game away, he did not fumble the game away, he did not score multitudes of points, BUT HE DID preserve a win that was set up by the starter and the defense. That is what was asked of him period.

As far as him being the QB of the future, I will say here and now, when that time comes, he will perform his job then in a satisfactory manner too.

Fair enough, but I also saw Q yelling after the play where he was wide open in the endzone but Kurt didn't have time and had to unload. Next play was a TD to Fitz, and Q was still looking mad.

Q is a fiery guy, that's why you love him on your team.

Tell me your not serious with that? C- at best!
I don't recall him forcing anything into heavy coverage. He wasn't on the same page as his receivers and he had a couple high throws but I don't think he made bad decisions.

I thought everyone would be jazzed about the game-clincher to Doucet. That was a good play by Leinart. He avoided the rush, kept his eyes down field, found Doucet and made a good throw.

I really think that Whis wanted this game to be close after Warner went out. A blowout win going into Tennessee probably would have been the worst case scenario as poorly as this team deals with success. This forced the rest of the offense to stay focused and the defense to work their butts off.

Leinart got some experience and some confidence and held the win. No problem at all with his performance. Not overjoyed either but he did his job.

DUDE HE WAS PLAYING THE 1-7 RAMS. Getting outscored in a half 10-0 by THE FREAKING RAMS is not a success by any measurement. Thank god our team is good enough to blow out a team like that in the first half because if Matt had to come play in the second half of LAST WEEKS game, we lose simple.

Heres the difference in perspective. You look at Matt like he is a scrub compared to Warner and evaluate him like Bucs fans evaluate rookie Josh Freeman. Fans of the team for multiple years look and think "Damn - this kid was a #1 pick, has been in this system for 3 years, and should be playing alot closer to Kurts level then he is."

At this point should be leading TD drives against 1-7 teams, no questions about it. Anything less leads to more questioning. Its not like the pass to Doucet was his only drive. He had 4 other drives to make a mark and he played like s---. There is really nothing else to say.

And saying Wiz is trying to maintain the score so we don't get overconfident against TENN is laughable. This is the NFL. You get wins and move on simple. Nothing else to it. When you start trying to play mind games with your team is when you start losing games.

Matt's performance was dissapointing today in that we all want to see him as our QBF and not miss a beat when KW is done. He could have looked sharper, well a lot sharper on a couple of throws. Our Running game doesn't dissapear if Matt does anything to scare the Rams enough to keep a safety or two back instead of stacking the line of scrimmage.

What I liked is that he didn't turn the ball over and did make some good throws. You all do realize that TH is in the top 3 on this team in receptions. This didn't happen because KW never throws to the check down.

That 20 yarder to Early came after he avoided a sack, he was hit and had to pull the ball down, get himself together, keep his eyes downfield and made the throw. People calling this lucky could say that 20 % of KW's completions are "lucky".

ENJOY THE WIN.

Wow!!!! If you are the one in his corner that has his back, he had better watch out. With friends like you, he doesn't need enemies.

Agreed. I want a score on this drive or I'm starting the "Draft Jevan Snead in the 2nd Round" bandwagon right here......

We have a junior QB at Arkansas that is 6'7" and weighs 245 lb. He has the strongest arm I have ever seen anywhere. He is tearing up the SEC on a mediocre team (7-4). He is going to talk to various teams before he makes his decision. Around the nation he does not seem to be known but he is sure known in the SEC and has already broke several Arkansas records. He is over 3000 yds already and we have LSU next week. He threw 5 TD's in one game twice this year. He is a pure pocket QB. He can throw bullets while still retreating. I doubt he would slip into the 2nd round but he sure will be playing on Sundays in the NFL. I think he is a better QB prospect for the NFL then Tebo. He transferred from Michigan to Arkansas as he did not like their new coach and his offensive plans. The 4 games he started for Michigan he won. His name is Ryan Mattlet. With that 6'7" height he can see over the defense real well.

Matt really disappointed me today however he has not played much. We certainly would not advance beyond one playoff game if he is the QB. He could not put up even 3 points in that half. We sure better be thinking about drafting a QB from what I saw today. We have the makings of a good defense and offense. With Warner we are a force to be reckoned with but at this point I a am sure worried about who will be our next QB. Kurt could retire after this year. Matt replace a hall of fame QB? I do not think so.

Really, the WR's suddenly morphed into some other form after first half and started to run wrong routes... very interesting

Possibly. The QB and Wrs have to be on the same page. Warner knows our starting WRs tendencies and they in turn, know Warner's tendencies from playing and practicing together on a regular basis. Leinart doesn't get that luxury.

Its not just a simple matter of running routes either. There are plays where WRs are given the option of what route to run based on what they see (see first deep pass to Fitz, Leinart thought he was going for a go route but Fitz ran a slant based on what he saw). In those cases do you think some practice time together may have some benefits?

Maybe Leinart was just off, maybe he isn't the QBOTF, or maybe this is people overreacting to something that may be more complicated then they are letting on (you know more than one factor going into things).

And the defense was tired being on the field most of the second quarter because the offense could not move the ball to save their lives. The D finally won the game for us.

RIGGGHHHHHT. Time of possession was basically even. They should be well rested from the first half is running down the field down their throats. If they were exhausted because of that then we need new players.

This game was nearly lost because of points off turnovers (thats 10 of their points) and our sudden inability to tackle in the 2nd half.
