You guys know how I think Little Jake is not that great. He needs lots of improvement. However, watching this Okur guy, geez, it's just throwing money away!! :) I'd rather Little Jake starts than this guy. Isn't Okur a free agent we are rumored to be interested in?

I wouldn't go quite as far as saying that Voskuhl is better, but I completely agree that Okur is extremely overrated.

Makes one wonder why Okur did not play at the end of tonight's game when Detroit was sorely lacking for an inside game. I was puzzled to see him on the bench if he has a legitimate inside game.... especially since Detroit was a tired team.

I still think Okur will put up very good numbers if he ends up on the right team next year. I hope the Phoenix Suns don't go for him though. I haven't been impressed with him in these playoffs like I was when I saw him during the regular season. I'd also like to see a center with a little more size. He isn't any bigger than Jake Voskuhl.

okur isnt an inside center. he strengh is playing in the high post. he has range on his jump shot.

Which is nice, but I'd bet Lampe can out shoot him.

Last night Okur played 8 minutes.
Even after 4 Detroit players fouled out he did not play......?
Something is wrong with that!!

I didn't see last night's game, but I know that Larry Brown doesn't trust Okur at all. (That's why he'll be interested in changing teams this summer.) When Brown was forced to start Okur earlier in the year, he was a dynamic player and a vital part of the team's success at the time.

I agree with Joe that Okur's size is a concern--he had trouble posting up Kenyon Martin in New Jersey, for instance. That said, he's still my #1 choice if the Suns don't spend their draft pick on another center of the future.
