Incognito for one.

Not guys who are pissed off because QBs are gunning for his knees blindside because they can't hit him straight up, potentially ending his career. I can understand someone being pissed and even taunting someone who tried to break their legs because they are emotional and in the moment. I can't understand a dirty player doing the same things over and over and over again. They could have spotshadowed Incognito and had a field day.

Gunning for his knees? Trying to break his legs? Donald, we agree on a lot of things, but a QB like Green intentionally trying to end his career by leading with his head on a tackle? It might be one of the first times in history that a QB with a history of concussion problems tried to take out someone's knees by leading with their head.

You have to do better than that.

If that play is wrong then the NFL should just ban all below-the-waist blocks.

I've been asking for that for years tired of watching linemen get their knees taken out on low blocks at the LOS.

Doesn't matter if it is intentional or not...he put his head into the dude's knees from the blindside. Heat of the moment, someone does that I don't blame the guy whose knees got chopped out from under him from the blindside for going out of his mind with anger.

Green had no play to make but a dirty one.

It wasn't from a blind side. His head hit the front of his kneecaps. just because Johnson didn't see a block, doesn't mean it was "from" his blindside.

Green did what many other QB's have done on reverses... I can't recall any QB blocking above the waist in that sort of situation... The problem isn't Green. It's the rule. What Green did is legal - it shouldn't be... Don't come down on Green for simply playing the by the rules...

Again I've been complaining about that rule for years.

WHere I disagree here is that people seem to think because Green is a QB its ok for him to go at the legs, yet for years people have been ripping the Broncos OL for doing that exact thing. It's legal but everyone says Denver has a dirty OL because they do it.

So apparently people think that it's only ok to do it if you're a QB or someone much smaller than the guy whose legs you're going for?

Seems like a bit of generalization there Russ. I am certain that many feel the Broncos are dirty - however, not sure if that's the majority sentiment. That said, I do think most would feel that they would expect a QB to block below the waist in this sort of situation. Again, not because they are trying to be dirty, but because it's the easiest way for them to be effective against a dude who weighs more than 100 more than he does.
Again - change the rule and this won't be an issue...
And FWIW, Johnson was a complete ******** for standing over Green, screaming at him... Get real dude... He blocked you according to the rules. Don't like it? Go sack his ass and drill him into the ground next time...

Heat of the moment taunting right after the play were you dont know if the player is injured yet, Whatever, even though its going to get you a penalty and hurt your team.

Continued taunting of a player whose career is over in post game comments, you can kiss my butt you classless loser. Just shut your mouth.

Green to undergo further tests after suffering grade-three concussion

Associated Press

DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green was knocked unconscious with a grade-three concussion -- the most severe -- and he'll undergo further tests on the career-threatening injury to determine his future.

Coach Cam Cameron declined to discuss the possibility the injury will prompt the 37-year-old Green to retire. "I don't think we really know the full extent, because there are some ongoing tests," Cameron said Monday. "Right now I just think there are too many unknowns."

Well, I guess he learned his lesson.

Cameron also said that Green was acting completely normal after the game at the hospital. Add to that, Green returned to Miami with the team. It's a potentially serious situation but he doesn't seem to be suffering after-effects like last time.

It was pathetic all the way around.

Trent Green made a VERY DIRTY play by going for the knees to start it. For those of you who say he didn't go for the knees, well your just wrong. He sent himself where he landing and that falls on him and no one else. I dont care if he is a QB. I am way smaller than Trent Green but am positive I could effectively made a blinside block on anything human without going low. The play was dirty, plain and simple. Secondly you have to wonder what type of idiot would lead with their head there. My son is 2 and fully understands the concept of using his shoulders.

I dont blame the DL for his initial outburst at all. It was heat of the moment and that happens. He should have kept his mouth shut after the game and will surely be penalized for not doing so, but he didn't lie at any point. Sometimes even when your right you just gotta keep it to yourself. No matter how pissed you are at the guy, you have gotta keep in mind that you are being paid to play a kids game and they are listening. Those comments were about the last thing in the world any boy wants to hear said about their father.

Oh, give me a break. He wasn't aiming for the knees, and he most definitely wasn't trying to lead with his head or injure anyone. He was trying to make a legal block that most QBs won't make because they're not as competitive as Green is, and he screwed it up because he's a freaking quarterback. It may not have been that bright, but it was born of his desire to help his team.

Also, I cannot parse "He sent himself where he landing".

OK so it was OK because it is legal. It is also legal to shoot someone for stepping in your yard at night if you live in Florida. Is that OK too? I am sitting on my porch and you are walking down the street and happen to stumble and step on my grass I can shoot you in the head. Thanks for clearing that up for me. There is a difference between playing by the rules and playing with dignity and class.

Have you even watched it? Hios head was right out there. if he hadn't of dont that he wouldn't be in the situation his is in. I am not saying he is a peice of crap, but sometimes good people do bad things and this was the case IMO.

Sorry about my spelling. landed

Honestly I never thought I'd live to see the day when a DL player complained about getting hit by a QB when he wasn't looking.
What's next? Some ex-QB analyst on a talk show saying Defensive Linemen should start playing in dresses?

If its not an illegal play, then Johnson should keep his mouth. Some talking head on TV also just made the point, when there is an interception, its completely fair and common for these defenders to blindside, essentially try to murder the QB. Everyone seems to think that's all fair and good clean fun in that instance.

If Johnson is so upset he should try to get the rules changed. Regardless, he is an utter moron be taunting a guy that for all anyone knows may be paralyzed. Ridiculous.

No it's not. The NFL changed that rule. During a turnover defenseless QB's are no longer allowable targets.

That was actually the play that came to mind for me too. I thought that was a cheapshot, Sapp actively sought out the guy who was not involved in the play, and then he too taunted him as the guy was down.

Green didn't go to that extreme.

They asked it again on Mike and Mike today, Golic thinks change the rule, and while he wishes Johnson hadn't been such a jerk he does agree that Green could have easily ended Johnson's season with such a dangerous shot at the knee. Schlereth said that's how it is, that's how it's always been, if it's legal you can't complain.

So the guy who spends his career getting cut at the legs hates it, they guy who spent his career cutting Dl's at the legs likes it.

I have watched this hit 7 times now. Trent Green Basically fell in front of Johnson and hoped he tripped over him. Johnson is already recognized as a knucklehead prior to Sundays events. I find it difficult to believe anyone can honestly think what Green did was in anyway malicious or illegal.

Maybe its' semantics but fell implies not intentional and Green very intentionally went low. he himself admits that.

Agree not malicious or illegal but maybe stupid and dangerous?

He basically assumed the fetal position in front of him. Anyone that watches this and thinks that Trent Green tried to deliberately injure Travis Johnson is seeing what they want to see not what actually happened. I am amazed that so many people are defending this knucklehead.

Falling infront of someone from the knees down is malicious. it doesn't matter what position he is in, the bottom line is that taking someone out that low is dangerous.

Got to disagree. if you want to see malicious go watch Vince Wilfork's hit on J.P losman's knee. Now that is trying to end someones career.

But he didn't "fall" he very intentionally went down to block him, he admits this.

I'm just disputing your use of the word fall, because in my mind fall implies not intentional.

I don't disagree I don't think he thought I'm going to blow this guys' knee out here, but I do think he thought if I hit him straight on I might get hurt, so instead I'll go low. Which is dangerous and given his prior health issues not very smart.

I think people in general that agree with Johnson are agreeing the rule is bad, not that Green intentionally wanted to hurt him. Haven't seen the results of Johnson's MRI yet but there was speculation he might have some damage in there the knee was clicking, swollen, and very painful after the game.

Except Wilfork was BLOCKED into Losman. I think people are conditioned to think any low hit on a QB is dirty and any low hit on a DL is fair game.
