Hold onto the ball, Murray!
Wrong. There are those that don’t care either way.

Key word "space port". Let's use some common logic. Gangster puts bounty on your head. The smartest and most obvious thing to do is ....wait.....frequent his establishment where his employees would report you were there in a nanosecond, where every bounty hunter he has hired to get your head is probably going to be at. Then buy the idea that Han is too smart to let Greedo shoot first but at the same time so inept that not only does Greedo walk up to him unnoticed but pulls up a chair like they are best friends.
Makes perfect sense.
Probably the best place for an unscrupulous smuggler to get work. Not as big a deal as you continue to make it. Heck, in Lucas' own special addition added scene Han runs into Jabba himself there and isn't killed by this slimy gangster who has a bounty on his head. All Jabba cares about is money and Han easily negotiates safe passage out of there for 15% more on the debt he owes him. Again, not as big a deal as you seem to think. It's obvious that Han felt comfortable there "in the lion's den" as you put it. It just further cements his cowboy persona at the start of the film.
He could have gotten work in many places. So a Cantina that Jabba owned was the only place in the entire space port?! So, your argument is hey I will just hang out there and hope to get some work before someone recognizes me and tries to kill me. Really?!!?
Yes, he did run into Jabba....AFTER Greedo tried to kill him. How does it get worse than that? Had Greedo succeeded Jabba would have paid Greedo and not blinked an eye.
Still doesn't address at all how incompetent you have to be to let Greedo not only get a drop no you but pull up a chair yet it's so unbelievable that Greedo could get a shot off first.
Again, what's not a big deal is this entire controversy.
Jabba didn't own the cantina. The Wookiee Chalmun did.

I stand corrected. However, the establishment was a "stopping point for pilots, smugglers, bounty hunters". You know the same guys that Jabba hired to bring in Han dead or alive. "Chalmun himself had shady dealings with local gangsters." Doesn't sound any safer since Chalmun himself partnered with Jabba and would sell him out in a heartbeat.
But did Han know or expect that a bounty might be on his head? Remember, Greedo at least had to be TOLD to look out for Han, either by Jabba, or through the more official issuing of a bounty.I stand corrected. The point being is the second Han walked into that Cantina, Jabba knew about it. Greedo certainly did. Fett and Jabba did too because in the SE they were waiting for Han at the Falcon.
I didn't comment on the debate, just pointed out an error with my extreme nerd skills. I actually own a trucker cap with Chalmun's Cantina on the front with a picture of a Bith playing an instrument.
