Seven players in double figures but Goran was the key. The Denver announcer in post game wrap-up just pointed out that their combo of guards almost always outplays their opponents but not tonight. And their analyst, Scott Hastings raved about Dragic the entire second half.

Solid win. This was a close game until midway though the 4th when the Suns started pulling away, something we haven't seen yet this season.

Dragic with 21/7/4. Beasley with a quiet 16 in only 25 minutes. Gortat with a double-double.

Off the bench, Brown is starting to become a consistent scorer to much of my surprise. 19 points on team-high 16 shot attempts. Morris easily with his best game this season, or maybe his only good game, finishing with 13/6/5 + 3 steals for good measure.

Suns had four players with at least 4 assists, and despite letting Denver shoot 54% (to Suns 46%) committed only 6 turnovers while forcing 15.

How they hell did we allow a offensive scrub like McGee to put up 16 pts on 8-12 shooting? Gortat, man, you gotta do what you used to do well...PROTECT THE F'IN RIM!!!

And Igoudala....with 6- 8 shooting for 17 pts, 9 rebounds and 5 assists? OK now its clear that Dudley cannot defend the decent and better SGs of this league.

Allowing a team to shoot 54% is never a good sign. I will enjoy this win a lot but something tells me that its merely a fluke. At least we did a good job of not turning the ball over (which is why imo we won since denver had a ton of turnovers)

Good win, and if we can continue to get this kind of contribution from Brown, Beasley, Dudley and Morris, we can definitely be a successful team.

JaVale McGee is not a scrub. How in the world did the Suns pass on Hibbert and McGee for Lopez?

Because the Suns have backwards thinking...well this guy is 7 feet tall and plays the 4 and still can't dominate the Pac 10...that must mean he will REALLY not dominate at the 5 in the NBA.

So true. Sometimes I think teams (the Suns) get locked into who has the most potential and less about who is the best player now.
Or they look at who they think will fit their plan the best as apposed to BPA.

Personally I think that just makes the win more impressive. Their opponent shot almost 10% better than them and they still won by 10. Why? Because they kept a good rebounding team off the offensive glass and forced 9 more turnovers than they had themselves. The Suns had 18 more FGAs and 3 more FTAs. I see your point, but I do feel like there is a lot of good to take out of it as well.

i'm definitely all for the bpa regardless of who we currently have. if there was an awesome pg and we have dragic around, I'm still taking the awesome pg versus need.

Read my post again. I said offensively he's a scrub and he is. He's a poor man's Tyson Chandler offensively.

I was at the game, and I don't think McGee made one shot that was not a dunk. The guy is pretty terrible outside of dunking.

Why did Gentry take out Beasley right when Beasley was starting to play well?

Like seriously, I wish some reporter would ask Gentry how his substitutions are determined.

If you can dunk from 12 feet away, why not? That doesn't seem terrible to me. The knock on McGee has been a questionable worth ethic and low basketball IQ, not that he dunks instead of attempting soft 6-foot floaters like Gortat.

It's great when the opposition lets him do it.

Andre Miller paired with Mcgee is almost unfair. If Miller was younger and played more minutes I think they could wrestle the alley-oop title away from Paul/Griffin.

The majority of McGee's points were off situations where Miller forced Gortat to step up and help leaving McGee a free run at the rim. Tough to defend and not really Gortat's fault (not most of the time anyways, he was caught in no man's land at least once that I saw)

Totally agree. Why shoot it when you can dunk it from 12 feet.

I'd take him any day of the week especially as the Suns backup center although he has tremendous upside. He rebounds well enough and and he blocks nearly a couple of shots per game. Also he is only age 24. If he ever got a clue as to how to play the game he could dominate inside.

I have noticed Gentry is not using as much of the bench as he has in the past. I am still not 100% sold on Tucker and would like to see Johnson get some minutes, but he will need to earn them like Tucker has.

Good to see Dragic and Gortat playing well together and Brown has to be in the running for 6man of the year if he keeps this up. Just think what this team would be like with a high caliber starting SG. :( Harden would look great on this team.

Any other scoring SG available?

agree with everything but giving johnson some burn.

i thought the same thing about Harden. what if we had a man who could penetrate and draw fouls. that burden he puts on defenses would help us immensely. or if Dragic penetrates he could kick it out to Harden for 3, or if the defense doesn't sag then the inside game would open up. whew what if...

Anthony Morrow with the Hawks comes to mind if he could be had for a second round pick. He has a $4M expiring contract. I don't know what the Suns have in mind going forward. He is not getting much playing time there.

I seriously think we should look into trading for a backup big man. The Bucks have 4 centers that are all capable of being decent backups for us and would fit well here imo.

Ekpe Udoh, Samuel Dalembert, Larry Sanders, and Joel Pryzbilla. I think we can maybe acquire one of those guys for the two LAL 2nd rd picks or something.

Look again. In a very short time, he has settled into a 9-man rotation with Brown, Telfair and Tucker playing significant 4th quarter minutes.

Gortat ..... 34.6 mpg
Dragic ..... 34.1
Scola ...... 29.9
Dudley .... 28.8
Beasley ... 28.8

Brown ..... 22.1
Morris ..... 19.3
Telfair .... 16.6
Tucker .... 15.4

Recently the bench is playing even more minutes. I would think we have the highest bench time in the league after only eight games.

Gentry has moved quickly to keep his players fresh and mix offense and defense, large and small.

What are the points per game for the 9 players in that rotation?

The Suns traded the LA 2014 second draft pick in the Robin Lopez trade. I don't want to give up any more draft picks for short term fixes.
