Lol... you are f’n high that people weren’t swooning over Len. It literally happens EVERY year the last three years.

The above is either complete revisionist history.

And literally FIVE GAMES ago people... even the big Bender people... were wondering what the hell he was doing.

Being impressed with Len is a lot different than regretting that he wasn't locked into an extension. Like I said, I don't recall anyone talking about wishing he was locked into a long term deal or regretting that he didn't get signed to an extension over the last offseason.

And so what, people questioned Bender's development a week or to ago. Since then he's been moved to Center and has been playing better. If you watched the games you'd see his development and progress to understand what everyone is seeing from him. Seeing his play is completely different than reading about what he's doing. You might understand what people are talking about in regards to his play, good & bad, if you were watching him play yourself rather than critiquing what other people say about what they saw from him on the court.

Nice positive start with Elfrid. Josh and TJ will like playing with him. Also nice start by Bender at C. Good call by Triano.

I must admit I've been high and low on Bender and Len this year, and mostly low and meh on Chriss and Ulis. Looks like Bender and Jackson have turned a corner. Excited to see Booker at SG with the group that started this game.

Payton
Booker
Jackson
Warren
Bender

Hope they can build some chemistry and consistency. Depends on injuries and Coach Triano.

Players putting up nice numbers on a terrible team is fools gold. Somebody’s got to score the points.

The eye test is fair but listing stats not so much.

I think the big difference between Bender and Len is that Bender already does some things very well. He is already a very good shooter, a good defender, and a good passer. Len was never good at any one thing for an extended period of time. Bender just understands the game in a way that Len never has, and never will. I am sure his confidence is gonna go up and down for another couple of years, but he already has a few NBA skills.

No.

Edit: I actually did watch a couple of the last games against the Spurs/Lakers. Wasn’t impressed with any performance in games we got smashed in.

And I didn’t watch the ten games Len balled back in January when people were jumping over each other to say he’d arrived either.

I need more than a five... or ten game stretch, when the team more often than not is getting destroyed... to get me excited about anything.

I mean... people are ready to anoint Payton the second coming... after one game... after doing the same thing with Mike James earlier this season.
Well. I am not sure they are anointing him thensecond coming. They are just relieved to see a legit nba pg on the team. Also after one game? He does have an nba resume that indicates his ability to play. The fact that Orlando dumped him means nothing. They have dumped a lot of good players.

Payton is the type of point guard I have been wanting for the Suns for quite some time. Whether he is the right version of that type, we will see...

What I like most about him is that, though few would suggest he's a high-level shooter, his field goal percentage is 2nd in the entire league among starting point guards. That indicates to me that he makes good decisions, and that's all I really want when it comes down to it.

Looking forward to the next game. Even without Booker. Haven't done that in a while.

Well I hope I'm not getting carried away with Payton but I will say this...He did many things on a decent level and the team seemed to respond to it. Plus after having no PG for a while it seemed like a shock to see one in action.

Literally a month ago people here were frothing at the mouth wondering if we made a mistake not signing him to a contract extension.
Cmon. What we were complaining about was picking him up for the QO. If he plays well, he gets decent offers and goes somewhere else, plus we can’t trade him. If he plays poorly we have an opportunity to keep him but why. It’s a lose-lose strategy. He has looked like it was an error both ways this season. There was a time there early where he seemed like he may have turned the corner but it faded.

You shouldn’t have to make thendisclaimer.
It’s funny how you can’t respond positively to a game without being accused of getting carried away. Good grief. It’s ok to be a fan.

Yes Cheese. You are obviously smarter than everyone here. We all are just swooning fanboys with no real idea of what we are seeing in the court.

I thought it was ok to respond positively to a good game here and there. I seem to remember people being encouraged at some good games by Len but usually ending comments with something like “but it’s Len so we don’t know if it will last.”

I guess that must swooning.
