Well at least the rumor of that stupid trade with SD has been snuffed and it appears we can safely assume that the left side will consist of LJ, BIG, and Kendall......on the right side we have serious tweaking to do. I'm now of the opinion that Clement is a VERY weak link at RT.

The question begs......can he become an effective RG a la BIG? If he can, great.....if he can't.... bye, bye (it would be nice to get everyone's thoughts as to what the chances are of him being able to transition to RG).

I think that John Tait would be a terrific FA addition at RT. Expensive yes.....but potentially the final puzzle piece on the O-Line......assuming that Clement can produce as a RG.

And then there is Damien Woody.......currently playing at RG but a natural Center. Could he be in the plans as a potential answer as our RG and being available to replace Kendall at Center next year?

I know we have more pressing needs on the defense but a CB and a passs rushing D-Lineman can be had in FA also.........maybe not a Kearse or a Wistrom, but perhaps a Robaire Smith and a Fernando Bryany/Ahmad Plummer/Antoine Winfield.

I agree that I think we should try Clement at RG before we give up on him. There is a lot af very good offensive linemen in this years draft to chose from if the Cardinals decide to draft a guy in the second or third round. I also think signing Damien Woody and starting him at RG would be a great idea. Kendall's contract ends next year. If Kendall gets hurt again at some point this year, Woody could step in and give us another top notch player at the position.

Woody is rumoured to be headed for Miami...

Left to be seen, but I will not be surprised (or disappointed) if our starting O-line next season is: LJ - Big - Kendall - Roundtree - Clement

There is no way Clement starts next year for Green.

I think we should start a rumor that he is headed here.:D
There are so many good offensive linemen available in free agency and the draft this year I would be very surprised if we didn't come away with at least one or two.

Tait would be a great but expensive option. If a trade could be worked out and we didn't have to give up a high pick and a big contract I would do it and move AC to Gaurd. I am not as down on him as some on the board. He can't handle speed rushers but everyone knew this but we gave him a big contract even with an injury history .

Tait would be a very good RT...and would fit in on this team. IF a sign and trade could be worked out and we didnt have to give up a high pick he would be the answer. I am not as down on AC as some on the board. He can't handle speed rushers but we knew this when he was givin a big contract. He however would be a good RG and I think several wanted him moved there early in Camp last year.

As has been covered many, many times, we would give up nothing to sign Tait. All the transition tag allows is the Chiefs can match any offer, though we can make a creative offer that they could never match.

I didn't realize his high school alma mater is McClintock.......so in many ways, he'd be coming home. I say let's put the full court press on him as our starting RT and move Clement to RG

He will start if he comes in the offseason and busts ass. Clement is a good OL who just played poorly recently. I think with the proper motivation (believe me Bob Wiley will motivate those guys) Clement can be a very good RT.

That doesn't mean I don't want Tait...in fact I think Tait would be worth having to give up a high pick for if the transition tag called for it (which it apparently doesn't). But Tait will not be coming here unless he signs a lower offer and the Chiefs would certainly match it.
