The "main ball-handler on the team" won't be there when the regular season starts, either. With so much at stake in terms of team culture and setting the tone for the future with this young core, do you really want this season to start the same way last season started?

First off, Booker is likely to play when the regular season opens. Second thing is that there are no better PGs available. Sadly Steve Nash and John Stockton are old and retired.

Booker's time table has him returning one week into the regular season.

And at this point, Tyler-freaking-Ulis would be better than the hot garbage we currently have there.

Suns are shooting 1-11 from 3 in the first half. The shooters they added in the summer, Anderson, Ariza, Bridges etc aren't paying off yet.

The key there is "in time". Rushing him into the starting point guard spot when he is nowhere near ready for it just because we have nobody else at the position risks ruining him. He needs time to develop.

If he starts for us he might well be the worst starter ever but I've seen worse PG's than him. With maybe one exception, none of us are happy with our point guards. We'd just be less happy should we give away assets for minimal improvement.
