St. Louis Cardinal baseball up-date (IF anyone's interested)

Pujols just went deep. GRAND SLAM!! Cards beatin' da' Cubbies 7-1 top 8th. NOW, back to football. Will the Patriots take the local kid Donald Brown?? I think we might end up with Connor Barwin now. GO CARDS!! :D

Pick # 23 - Baltimore Ravens

Michael Oher - OT - Mississippi

Analysis Positives: Prototypical left tackle build. ... Has good height and excellent athleticism. ... Unlike some left tackles, he has girth in his lower body. ... Uses his long arms to lock onto the defender to nullify the pass rush. ... Gets into his pass set quickly and has very good lateral movement. ... Not fooled by dancing on the line. ... Shows the feet to pull inside, get to either shoulder as a run blocker and nullify linebackers outside on screen passes. ... Sustains and mirrors as long as possible and will play through the whistle. ... Improvement as a run blocker as a senior. Began to play with more aggression and physicality at the second level. ... An ascending talent who should only get better.

Negatives: Only has three years experience at left tackle and is still learning the game. ... A better pass blocker than power-run blocker, as he does not consistently get great push off the edge. ... Needs more consistency in using his punch, which can be devastating against rush ends. ... Can be beaten in pass protection by quicker hands. ... Loses balance when lunging in pass protection. ... A bit tentative in the open field. ... Gets a bit lazy moving his feet when the play is run away from him and could stand to gain more stamina. ... Does not always adjust to outside blitzes, but handles inside pressure just fine. ... Has a very quiet, passive demeanor that some many characterize as lacking passion.

Pick # 24 - Atlanta Falcons

Peria Jerry - DT - Ole Miss

Analysis Positives: Quick, active three-technique tackle. ... Good height and adequate girth inside. ... Very quick off the snap, able to beat the down block by tackles or penetrate to force the quarterback to rush his decision. ... Gets his hands inside guards' jerseys to push the pocket. ... Chases downfield on plays away from him, and works hard to make a tackle when the ball is in his area. ... Uses his hands well to defeat cut blocks inside. ... Handles double-teams pretty well when playing the nose considering his height, and is able to get off the double to get to the ball. ... Emerged as the unquestioned leader of the Ole Miss defensive line. ... Dominant week at the Senior Bowl. ... Good bloodlines. ... Cousins Eddie Strong and Dwayne Rudd both played linebacker in the NFL.

Negatives: Makes a lot of plays when slanting toward the action. ... Needs to play stronger at the point against the run. ... Can play a bit high in rushing situations, causing him to lose the leverage battle. ... Lacks great awareness, as he does not keep his eyes in the backfield. ... Takes himself out of plays too often. ... Needs to stay on his feet against stronger linemen. ... Low test score. ... May struggle with a complicated playbook.

We need a RB now more than we need insurance for next season.

If the Cards draft Brown and cut Edge, then Hightower will end up being the featured back and the Cards will barely make the playoffs if at all. Rey M. is a game changer and none of these RBs are. Big time decision here for the Cards and if they draft Brown and cut Edge we are SCREWED.

A lot of great players still on the board. Regardless of what happens we will get a terrific player.
