"Volunteered to play on all the special team coverage units, in addition to handling return chores."

Not what I would use a 4th rounder for, but I've got a desk job.

If this works our secondary could be the best in the NFL.

Like.... THE BEST.

This does not seem to be a Graves type of pick at all. Someone must have fought their ass off in the war room to vouch for this kid.

PFW does have him in their draft book...

Summary says "Instinctive ball hawk opened eyes in two post season all-star games and has intriguing tools to develop."

They projected him as late draftable/priority free agent

defninitely a scout was very high on him. How can we hate the pick when we don't have any idea what kind of player he is?

I find it amusing that everyone here was sniffing Whiz's jock saying how great of a draft the man is running, then we take a guy that no one here knows and all of a sudden he doesn't know what he is doing. I will hold off judgement because I have never seen him play, but obviously the Cards have. Everyone was pissed last year when we took Hightower because no one saw him play and that turned out well.

He didn't care to get his grades? How will he act with some $$$ in his pocket from the NFL? WOW!!! Sounds like a project: boom or bust.

Dude... I said the exact same thing last year about Timmy.

Do I expect production out of the 4th round? Hell Yes.

Hopefully this kid is what our scouts thinks he is. I expect him to be a surprise this year. Maybe Special Teams, maybe in Nickel. Whatever.

The first pick I'd say we had that is a head scratcher. I've never heard of St Pauls College.

hopefully the scouting dept did their work.

our small school guys have generally turned out pretty good. Hightower, Wells, and DRC. Keith also shows potential.

Cuz haters they gonna hate. Its funny because I remember this same reaction last year when we took Tim Hightower. So lets just wait and see, besides the fifth round is where we really find players...LOL

You can NEVER have enough GOOD corners...

How many times have we heard that?? OK! Could he have been had later?? Maybe. BUT if you like someone you take him. There were other "needs" (ie; Pass rusher/ O-Line Depth) So this will bear watching. Still, how much faith did we have in a 5th Round pick out of Richmond last year with NO speed?? I'd say that turned out pretty well. GO CARDS!! :D

8.2 yards on ten punt returns and 16.8 yards on six kickoff returns

Are these good stats? I've never really paid attention to return stats

From the looks of things he has experience as a returner, great athlete, and can contribute on special teams in some capacity.

Can't complain too much. Around this time, all the prospects have some faults at this point.

I agree.... We will have to take notice if any scouts are fired next off-season if this kid doesn't work out.
