If we seriously just spent the #5 pick on Meyers Leonard...
Len is not a stiff, he is just not a sexy pick.
Len is furthest from a stiff I have seen in a 7'1 center. He is nimble and agile.
If it's true, how can it be spin? It's spin only because you WANT it to be spin. Maybe McD isn't the savior a lot of us had thought and they honestly had him #1 on their board.
If we seriously just spent the #5 pick on Meyers Leonard...
big guy with a stress fracture in the ankle. reminds me of sam bowie, but bowie was more explosive than Len will ever be.
they said Noel's knee was in pristine condition, being a lightweight guy and having some time to recover I think he makes almost a 100% recovery.
i'm not sure we took the bpa
I keep feeling like I have to say that I would have taken McLemore, but I don't think it's at all out of the question that they had him #1. I mean clearly they had him over everybody but the 4 players taken ahead. Of those players the only guy I think they might have possibly had rights over Len would be Oladipo.
I also think it's a little ridiculous to get so bent out of shape about Gortat not being traded tonight when we have ABSOLUTELY no idea what if anything was actually offered. This is like everybody bitching about losing Amare for nothing when he helped us get to the Western conference finals and we have no evidence anybody really offered us anything worthwhile for him. Plug Nash into the same thread.
Besides, there's still the rest of free agency and all of next year to trade guys like Gortat, Scola, and Dudley (whom I hope they hold onto).
Joe
Len is very mobile big man for a 7'1, 255lb center. He has a 7'4 wingspan which I think is the 2nd biggest wingspan in this draft.People were saying the same exact thing about Chris Mihm...who ended up being a big white stiff.
I don't buy a second of it.
if you're that talented, you rise above bad guard play. drafting a guy at 5 who couldn't...and already has a) motor issues and b) injury issues is insanity, whether he's white or not.
Len has added a significant amount of weight to his outstanding 7-1 frame, even if he wasn't quite able to maintain it as the season moved on. Nevertheless, his physical potential is off the charts, a he sports a 7-4 wingspan, a very solid base, and excellent agility and dexterity for a player his size.

We worked out all those guys and we end up picking....
a guy who couldn't work out due to injury.

Crap! I wanted Snell for the Suns.
Not trading Gortat is one of the worst ideas in the history of bad ideas. Do we need him to "mentor" Len? What in his history says that Gortat can mentor anybody?
That video breakdown of Len vs. Noel really scared me. Len looked pretty seriously outclassed.
I am happy with who picked him.
ROFL, Shabazz goes on stage six picks late.
I am genuanily happy for the Bulls. I think he'll be a very good player, and is exactly what Chicago needed.
I thought the consensus was that Len outplayed Noel.
we have different ideas of what makes someone a stiff. not sure what's so hard to understand about that.
The guy is Chris Mihm who IMO was a big white stiff. you have different ideas. so be it.
