Except I'm not advocating us "buying high" or making a big splash right now. All I was commenting on was that the "bargains" listed in the post I quoted that we got off the waiver wire and trade don't look like they add much at all to me.

There's a reason the perpetually injured Steeler was traded for a 6th round pick... a reason one of the worst ranked CBs in the league was cut (who we then paid a good deal of money for)... a reason a TE who's been dog-snot for years was cut... a LBer who's been injured and unproductive the last couple years costs 2 million bucks. I'm afraid we're going to get what we paid for with almost all the signings Keim made pre-FA. That's what I'm talking about Krang.

I like the Swearinger pick-up, but other than that, the "bargains" we got in pre-FA look a hell of a lot like Keim-time crap we've been served the last couple years.

Just curious, would you rather him not do those signings? If they pan out, they could be huge,

again, all I'm saying is I don't get waving pom-poms about them. And no, I wouldn't have signed Alford to that contract.

and if Bradford stayed healthy... if Pugh stayed healthy... and if Diche stayed healthy... and if Humphries stayed healthy... and if Iupati stayed healthy and HB before them and on and on and on. We seemingly build our team based on IF. It hasn't worked well for us for the last three years.

We do seem to not have much luck in keeping players healthy. :(

I see what you are saying but how feasible is it really to find solid players that you think fit your team, scheme and roles that haven`t been injured at some time in their careers? It is possible but I wonder if a guy who has never been hurt might have had a much larger asking price than a player coming off injury? Things like that could factor in the equation? Who knows the behind the scenes talks between SK and agents.Just tossing some ideas out there.

If Keim had been fired is the most important If...

Who would you have signed and for how much? 8 million per is not big money for a starting CB. Up until last season, Alford was a good #2 corner in the NFL. AND he doesn't count against comp pick formula which is huge in the modern NFL.

You can say this for ALOT of these signings. Tyrann Mathieu just got big money and he has had multiple major injuries in the NFL.

It's a contact sport and players get hurt. The Cardinals have had an unusual number of injuries and teams tend to regress back to the mean. The Rams last year were incredibly healthy; during the Fisher years they had a lot of injuries. My point is that if players are available there usually is a reason and injuries are often a big reason, or they have an uneven record of performance and teams are sticker shocked.

You're wasting your keystrokes.

I thought Danny Amendola would have been a slam dunk , but he signed a 1 year deal with Lions for $5.75 million
