Tons of lightening and thunder, but no rain in the so far took tonight.
lightening (noun Medicine/Medical) - the descent of the uterus into the pelvic cavity, occurring toward the end of pregnancy, changing the contour of the abdomen and facilitating breathing by lessening pressure under the diaphragm.

I thought I had seen you post somewhere that you were moving? Am I crazy? How about this..
I get off work in Scottsdale and see over here in El Mirage that its going crazy.. Lightning, rain pouring and the facebook reports of pouring rain and downed trees.. By the time I get here... Nothing.. Then facebook blows up about how the eastside and Scottsdale are getting hammered about the best monsoon in years.. Dam thing moves around me to wherever Im not.. haha.. Happens all the time.. At least I got one good rain in at my house while I was at home.. But thats it..

...wait, don't answer that!
Well, answer the first question...(which wasn't really a question)....but not the 2nd one.
Good luck with your search! Tell the G the 'bee says hi, and she misses it!Yup.. Going back to Glendale.. But Im being picky, so its taking awhile.. If not Glendale, then definitely that surrounding area.. Westside for sure.. Been looking at the houses around the Cards Stadium but there are so few of them in that immediate area..
When the move happens, and its done.. Everyone will know that Gee From The G will be back in the G.. haha
I'm in Goodyear right now. Visiting for a couple of days.
I realized that even though I'm born and raised in the Valley, moving away hurts your ability to tolerate the heat.
I got out of my car yesterday to gas up and was greeted with a 115 degree blast of fire in my face.
For comparative purposes, I live near the coast in L.A. county 75 degrees is the norm this time of year

Man, any humidity at all there is horrible. Hot enough as it is.There is actually more humidity this year than normal.. Just breaking out in sweats this year when out side..
One of the best Monsoon storms in quite a while. Incredible lightening show and going on a solid 2 hours of steady rain, with periods of wind-driven downpours. At 9:55pm, we were at just over an inch and it's raining harder right now than it has at any point tonight!! Most excellent!!!
That's what we got. Lightning flash every other second and the thunder was one continuous sound for 90 minutes.

So, I seem to have forgotten the reason why it is called a monsoon, and not just a rain storm or thunderstorm?
You just called them "monsoon storms." !!!!!!The storm itself is not called a Monsoon... Technically, the definition of Monsoon is merely a change in wind patterns. For us here in AZ, it means that a High Pressure has set up over New Mexico in such a way that brings warm, moist air up from Mexico, raising our humidity and dew points which provides the fuel for Thunderstorms.
That said, there does seem to be differernces (at times), between Monsoon season Thunderstorms and traditional Thunderstorms... Last night was a great example as the ligthening was just so incredible. You never see anything like that in a traditional, non-Monsoon season storm.
Also, the winds are far greater in Monsoon Season storm. So, perhaps the overall intensity is greater in storms during the Monsoon season. The warmer, more moist air must be a strong factor in the greater intensity...
You just called them "monsoon storms." !!!!!!
And we must have a ton of monsoons in Illinois. I see tons of cool lightening shows from my third floor windows.
See them all the time over Lake Michigan. Arizonans want to be different.I spent a lot of summers in Michigan and Chicago. I never saw a storm in either of those places like the one we had last night. (And I was thinking about those summers last night.) The lightning last night was flashflashflashflash.
Not to say you haven't seen that, but I sure hadn't. (I also turned off the lights and sat in the dark just watching and listening.)
