It figures I'm out of town when all this happens.

I live down the street from the Ritz Carlton in Marana where the Accenture Match Play is being played and we had snow late in the morning and another snowstorm hit later in the afternoon. Got over an inch of snow in about one hour late this afternoon and the snow is still on the ground.

Sprinkles this morning in South Scottsdale

Miggy was outside peeing when it started - he has never experienced it before - scared him! Came bolting back under the patio

We had thunder and light rain during the night. Enough to make a mess since everything was covered in dust. Very humid this morning.

I'd seen a Palos Verde Beetle (one ugly bug) earlier in the day. I'd read they appear before the monsoon. Guess he was on the job.

Yeah, I try to be an optimist but I guess deep down I'm just a masochist.

Ive seen a few giant black beetles in the last week. One in my front yard and one floting in my pool, dead.

Ps lots of lighting south of my (Mcclintock and 60) dont think it ever hit us beyond dust but the dogs did wake me up at 3am to see lightning, figure they heard thunder and barked.

Nearly had a heart attack the other night when the emergency broadcast for a "Severe Dust Storm Warning" came through my phone, my wife's phone, and my work Blackberry all at the same time. Don't remember asking for that service, NWS.

ill never forget the first time I heard it, I was in a store and like 10 phones were going off for a dust storm.

I think its a wonderful feature but NOT for dust storms that are no big deal. Oh no!! a bunch of dirt!!! sound the alarms!!!!!

Yep... was driving back from Prescott with the family. I had stuck my cellphone - along with my wife's - in the front little cubby under the radio... Took us a good 60 seconds or so to figure out where the noice was coming from!

Most cell phones these days come with the app "accuweather" or some similar app..

Under your message notifications you can turn them on or off, if using android.
IPhone it's in settings, notifications.

No rain (yet) but it just got really, really dark and windy up here. Lots of dust in the air.

I just realized how much I love monsoon season. It's just flat-out cool to watch Mother Nature change.
