Who out there is so much better? Please tell me. All of you geniuses that are laughing at this are gonna feel really smart when Warner goes down and our team is relying on Lane Campbell or Boyd huh.

Tim Rattay is much better. He hasn't been out of football as long and doesn't have a tarnished history with the team.

No way in hell. Plummer doesn't even want to play, so it's a moot point.

Thank god.

Brunnell couldn't even make second string in DC. He's totally finished.

He is no hero, thats for sure, but I really think he is a capable backup still. Saunders (the OC in Wash) has the biggest playbook in the world and Collins hknew it since they had been togewther forever. being as though Brunell was the #2 there wouldn't be practice time for him to learn it so I think they just automatically named Collins the #2 so that they would have to limit the playcalls if Campbell went down.

Come on MD, you've seen him play the last couple years. At the end of the year last season he could barely move. His legs are shot, and therefore so is any power in his throws.

Start Warner and have Q run the no-huddle. That's all we need baby. Q should be touching the ball every play anyway....

A guy who i'd to see get another shot in the NFL is Joe Germaine. He lit up the arena league last year and he was the starter ,very briefly, under Vermeil in KC.He had a bad game and his career spiraled downward. Maybe he has resurrected it. He still the most accurate passer i have seen in college football. He probably can't be the answer for this year though. I would've loved for the Cards to have brought Leftwich in. Too bad Joey Harrington stunk it up so bad that the Falcons had to bring him in. Speaking of the Falcons, let's bring in Mike Vick :D.I think he's available.

I hate the skins with a passion, so as wierd as it sounds I am sure you have seen more of him the last few years than me. I will just take your word for it.

You might be right. Standard belief among Rams fans is that Mike Martz broke Germaine. Martz's technique for criticizing his starter while not tearing down his status with the team is to be extra aggressively hard on the backup, sometimes for stuff the starter did wrong.

Trent Green and Warner held up under that treatment. When Germaine got promoted to 2nd string after Trent Green was traded, he fell apart. Guys who went to training camp in 2001 said he visibly wilted every time Martz went off on him. He needed to be handled differently, and Martz, at least at that time, wasn't capable of seeing that. Maybe now his confidence would be back up. I thought he was very promising before he imploded.

No, he V. Young's backup. I am with the Joe Germaine idea, but not in midseason. That guy needs the work of training camp and preseason. We need someone who can step in and play confidently. The more I thin about it, the more I think we will see either Campbell or Boyd.

That would eliminate Campbell and Boyd. They will get a legit back up. They need someone who can step in and give us a chance and neither of those two qualify.

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Does anyone remember a kid who was cut from KC at the end of preseason called Painters? From what I can recall, he could scramble, and his throwing wasn't terrific, but it wasn't horrible either.

Just a possibility - don't really know much about him. Just the highlight reel stuff.

I know that Whiz loves the 3rd stringer from Pittsburgh (St. Pierre), but he's young & I'm sure the Steelers wouldn't trade him.

Printers...I think it's Casey Printers.

IMO, we need a veteran.

... Signed a big contract, by CFL standards, with the Hamilton Tiger Cats, and Timmy Chang is his backup.

Had forgotten about him. Germaine always impressed me. So too did Rattay.
