are those wild horses?
They are, they are all over out there. The main rec site accessible to anyone sees many of them come through to play in the water and etc throughout the day.

Where I went, you need 4x4 (or an adventure bike) and I guess it is where the horses sleep as my camp was surrounded by them.

Nice! I just bought my daughter a kayak like that from Costco. We haven't taken it out yet, but we're looking forward to it.

Looks like Tonto lifted their fire restrictions just in time for my trip this weekend. :clapping:

Awesome. We were camping up by Lake Mary a few weeks ago when the restrictions were in place. Camping just isn't the same without a campfire.

Just got back from my 2 week motorcycle trip in the Smokies. Only camped 2 nights. Couldn't get my top box mounted prior to the trip so I was limited to what I could carry. 2 side box Panniers and duffle bag was all I could handle. Found a great place called Kickstand Lodge.

Bike packed pre trip.

Awesome bike. I've got a dual sport now, but my next bike is gonna be one of these so I can go on rides like you just did.

Yep. On FR487 past the Elks Youth Camp.

I think that the next time out I am going back to El Oso Rd. To the spot I found before the road got really rough. Maybe go on a day hike around the whole thing. Just need to get a pack for water.

Watch Slickdeals and woot each day, I've gotten several hydration packs for cheap on those sites.

I guess they have cheap ones on Amazon too

Horton Trail looks like a great Trail I didn't know what I was doing so I went West and followed the water and ended up finding that stuff instead. Horton Trail is actually across the road

I wish there was an outdoors forum.
We could always just start making threads for different trips they can get buried in the long run but at least they'd be a little more split up

Its a good looking place? Were there a lot of people up there and is there places to camp outside of the campgrounds?
I don't know if there are any campgrounds. there were people going to Horton Trail but the direction I went which I guess is the wrong way there was nobody over there and I just followed the water and ended up finding those teepees I don't know if there's camping permitted or whatever I just was there at the fish hatchery and decided to check it out. There is quite a bit of info online of Horton Trail. I remember it's a hike to water that ppl say good things about but I ended up not doing it after going the other way. I had my 3 yr old so could only do so much

Where is a the place in AZ, I think somewhere north, where you go hiking and there are waterfalls and ladders you have to climb up? I remember going there as a young kid and hearing about a story where a kid fell to his death through a hole in the hiking pathway.

Havasupai in the grand canyon?

Sycamore falls?

Most arizona waterfalls outside of the canyon are caused by snow run off so they are only around for a month or two.

I think it was Strawberry, AZ. Family friends had a cabin up there.
