Man, Monti backed himself into a corner with the ILBer position. Overpay or burn draft capital and hope the pick is an immediate defensive leader. Oof.
Burn capital for ilb its a keim straregy
U can get a good one if the scouts are competent later in the draft
Mack wilson is good
We bring back barnes and still have the youngster pappoe, who can only get better
Big difference which make everyone look better is heavily upgrading the defensive liine

Fixing the defensive front will definitely help. Counting on a less talented ILBer room than last year would not be wise, IMO.

We’ll get what we pay for Barnes and Pappoe… trash and a void of leadership. Great.

Potentially yes.

I refrain from concluding until I know the actual outcome.

Surprised by the contracts. Sherwood most likely had the highest value due to age and quality got 15M. As did Bolton. But Jones only got 11M and Wagner 9,5M

Sure, we'll wait and see. Just another situation of him being reactive, so it will be harder.

And so it begins.

What are we going to do at ILB, then, if all the options are gross?
Find the best fit among them.

I like what White have contributed to the team. But he is a liability in coverage, which is the exact reason he got benched in Philly.

Maybe he is the best option at this point with so many LBs re-signing with their teams. Maybe Greenlaw is a Cardinal in 2 days. Maybe a player of similar caliber is a better fit.

Repeated this twice now. He never got benched. He consistently played 70+% of the defensive snaps throughout the season.

The starter designation seems likely based on the personnel groups opponents ran out to begin games.

He did. And then got the starting job back due to injury
