First off, If Eli Apple is there at 29, the Cards better take him. I think he'll be best pro of the bunch.

As for Josh Perry, there's no chance, at least there shouldn't be a chance, he's the pick at 29. He's more of 3rd-4th round guy to me. He'll be a solid player but also a non-impact player. He doesn't have the athleticism to exceed in the NFL.

I want to say he could be a LaMarr Woodley but I don't think he can be as good as Woodley was in his day. I think he'll be more of a, regardless of position, Kevin Minter type in that you can throw him out there and he'll do his job but is not going to have a major impact but won't hurt you either.

Interesting about Joshua Perry. When so many of the edge rushers were running slow times yesterday, I looked at Perry's 4.68 and his length at 6-3, 250 and wondered whether he could be a factor on the edge. I am watching him in his agility drills and he looks very smooth. Then, I go and watch tape and i really liked the way he chases and tackles well below the waist. In addition I start reading articles about him and how highly regarded he was as a leader in the locker room as well as on the field. So, I start thinking---this is exactly the kind of player Steve Keim likes---the physical talent + the intangibles (leadership, dedication, maturity).

This is why I asked you about him at 6 AM this morning, Cbus.

Today I get back from work and lo and behold Josh Weinfuss has just posted this article on ESPN:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/pos...ua-perry-learning-how-to-be-a-3-4-pass-rusher

What if Perry is on the board at the end of round 2? That was my thinking, especially if we take a DT/DE or CB in Round 1.

Btw, with the numbers Eli Apple just put up today in Indy, he's going to be well off the board when we pick at #29.

Considering that most OHIO STATE players don`t do really well after being drafted by the Cards I say look elsewhere.Remember Tito Paul.Ty Howard,Alex Stepanovich,Beanie Wells.Injuries or poor play seems to derail OSU in AZ.

A player who quietly had a great combine was BC Safety Justin Simmons. While his forty time (4.61) wasn't great, he had 40" vert, 126 broad jump, and finished with best times among all DB's in 3 cone drill, 20 yd shuttle and 60 yd shuttle. He was a player I really liked but didn't see that coming.

Being a BC grad and having seen all of JS's games, I would be elated if the Cardinals took him. He has the type of versatility the coaches covet.

Eh, dude has awful ball skills and his technique really isn't good. Also a bit grabby. He's blessed physically, but that won't get you far if you don't know the good fundamentals.

This Kamalei Correa talk is gaining momentum to the point where I gotta take a serious look at the guy.

Every mock I see has us taking him.

From what I see, hes sort of a more athletic Golden. I mean, id take him. But hes not a game breaker. If we could take a "good" pass rusher in Correa OR a really good CB, id rather take the really good CB.

I have that Matt Judon circled and highlighted in round 2 or 3 tho

Round 2 or 3, Correa has value...first round, not so much. Also, let's keep expectations appropriate for him. He isn't a guy who wins with speed or burst.

I would rather take the kid out of Maryland.

yannick ngakoue is his name. Im the opposite. I feel hes the 3rd rounder. His tape looks like a guy who rarely wins 1 on 1, and gets a lot of trash sacks. Seems slow to diagnose, not explosive off the line.

Manny Ogbah is a guy ive always liked. Inconsistent, but hes flashed explosion and speed superior than any other pass rusher in the draft. Just need consistency

I know I'm going to be in the minority on this, but I actually do like Correa quite a bit. I'm not going to stand on the table and argue this one, but this is what I see on tape. He plays with a mean streak and aggression. I see straight line explosion and strength to take on blockers. He runs down ball carriers from sideline to sideline. He is very good at timing blitzes up the middle and alluding blockers to get to the QB (something Bucannon and Minter are not great at). Most project him as a 3-4 OLB, but I don't think he looks natural rushing from the outside and doesn't have much for pass rush moves. I think he can be an excellent 3-4 ILB. I think he shares many of the same traits as Clay Matthews. Not saying he's going to be Clay, but similar styles.

I would like Ogbah in round 1, and I prefer Ngakoue in round 3 than Correa in round 2.

I agree the Correa looks like a better ILB than OLB in a 3-4. He brings nothing special off the edge, but that doesn't make him a poor football player.

was just watching NFLN and they were replaying some QB time from the combine... First time I really got to see Carson Wentz...

That kid is impressive.......if BASK wanted to do something stupid to move up it wouldn't hurt my feelings.... he may not be a franchise guy.... but he sure plays the part really well.
