The officials arent horrible tonight. Not great, but not horrible either. Dont blame this one on then. There was only one really bad call so far. (the fould against voskuhl, when he didnt even graze Duncan.)

well, 40-34.....

WOW, I wonder how llong they'll last.

If this is a way to test how Googs reacts out there, then I'm all for it, especially with Little Jake and Amare in foul trouble. But FJ NEEDS to play Big Jake. I can't for the life of me figure out why he doesn't at least try it when Duncan is in the lineup.

suns started the game with good energy, but it sure went away as the half went on.

the suns give away too many possessions. it seems at least one out of every five times down the floor they invariably stand around, dribble for 10 seconds then fire up an 18 foot jumper, and send nobody to the offensive glass. they just completely shut down too often. can't do that in the playoffs. their aren't enough 'runs' in playoff basketball to make up for the wasted trips.

this series has shown me one thing--the suns aren't good enough to hang with the big dogs--yet. they might win another game or two, or even miraculously pull out the series, but they are not the better team. good thing is they're young and this will be great experience.

jj, why does it always take a good play to get you going? why can't you at least pretend you're trying until you make a play? you make a shot and all of the sudden you're running around, until that happens, you never do anything more than jog. it's time to crank it up.

penny, quit being so freakin' nonchalant handling the ball.......sheesh

i think they'll pull this one out. either that, or they'll get blown out in the second half. if they can keep it close, the suns should win.

go suns.

i would rather have googs out there shooting 15 footers than scott williams.

i also agree we might as well try big jake. what is fj saving him for? they have a lot of guys who don't match up well with the spurs and they still play.

3 fouls each on Stoudemire, Penny and voskhul with still 4-5 min to go before half time. What kind of home court advantage is that? The Spurs didn't play well in the second quarter, or it would be another blow out game.

Man, did you see how HIGH Amare was on that dunk?? Super slo-mo showed the ball a good 2 feet higher than the rim!

"No, I replied, he's on the bench"

On the other hand, Williams is having a decent game.

I thought Stoudemire's dunk would finally get us going, then all those BS offensive fouls gave the Spurs a 10-1 run.

Does anyone honestly believe that the NBA, ESPN and TNT would let the team with the best record in the league lose in the first round?

Yeah, the officiating has gotten a lot worse here in the 2nd half. Geez, until Marion just hit that nice alley-oop layup, I could barely tell he was playing in the 3rd quarter.

I am, however, fairly impressed with Googs. Sure, he's missed some shots and blown some assignments, but he's playing a lot better than I thought he would.

And that wouldn't be prudent. I'd rather them be down by seven right now than up by seven.

8th seed beating 1st seed does happen once for a while, so it is not impossible. At least we are not playing the Lakers.
