I probably would have hated Kobe too if he'd gone to college; he would have gone to Duke. Thank goodness he didn't. :)

Kobe didn't go to Duke but I still poop on him!

Thank goodness for Sallie, 10 three's and ended up with 35 points. Robert Dozier....where were you all game long?
I'm a CSUN grad, I was really hoping they would pull it off... I was there for their last tourney appearance in 2000-01 season. They played great today and just ran out of gas in the last few minutes...

Its been a real tough season for CSUN, they've had to overcome a lot from their top scorer getting booted from the team for boosting electronics from the Best Buy right down the street from my house (with the coach's son no less) to another key player almost dying in a car accident near campus in the middle of the season and missing the rest.

They did us proud today...

I wasn't expecting for Cal State North Ridge to put up such a strong effort today. Cal State North Ridge offense did a pretty good number on Memphis defense.

Seems as if most, if not all, the chest thumpers bragging on their first day success , don't seem to be in the ASFN tournament. Which brackets are you guys having so much success in? Not that we don't believe you. :D

I am bragging about my last place standing, so far. The only entry worse than me, is the guy who forgot to submit his picks by the deadline. But I have 11 winners on the first day. Today is my day. Whoo hoo, love March Madness.

Boy the refs lucked out that Maynor missed that lost shot in the UCLA win over VCU.

I was pretty sure I saw it live but there's now still pics that prove when Maynor came off the highscreen to start that play, Josh Shipp hedged and Maynor went around Shipp by stepping into the backcourt. It wasn't even close 3/4 of his foot was across the line.

had he made that shot we'd all be watching replays of that now since it should have been UCLA's ball. Great game I missed the first half driving home from fishing but VCU did a great job getting back in the game.

Howland did his milk the clock trick again and turned an 11 point lead into a 1 point win. Good thing Jrue Holiday stepped up when Collison got his 4th foul.

Looks like Seth Davis was nearly right.

The Oklahoma St. - Tennessee game was the best of the tournament so far. That was FUN to watch.

wally, yours truly is the dummy who got confused between which game bracket he was filling out. I'm the dummy. Thinking I was playing the cbssports.com bracket where you pick over round by round, I only picked round 1 of the ASFN game.

DOA. Last place for me again.

Not doing as well today. I've lost 2 so far, WVU and Utah St (barley!). What really hurts is I had WVU going to the Elite 8.

My bracket is dead already. Corpse.

Three results in and I'm 1-2 and losing the Purdue game right now. Suckiest start in a long line of sucky starts spanning my bracketology body of work.

I have only lost two so far a third of the way thru the 1st round.. I only lost the Illini and Butler games..

Cleveland State upsets Wake Forest 84-69

Wisconsin upsets Florida State 61-59 in OT.

Last two teams in both win today.

I have still only lost two games in my bracket.. As hard as it may seem, I picked Cleveland St, Siena and Wisc.. I caught hell over those picks at my office.. It will be a glorious day when its time to go back to work..

UW goes down too. I had them losing in the opening round, not surprised at all. They shot less FT's than Purdue, I just figured they wouldn't get the FT advantage in the tourney they did in the Pac 10 and that would be the difference for them.

Won't be surprised if ASU is the only Pac 10 team left after Sunday.

Gonzaga - Western Kentucky

Somewhere, my old high school basketball coach was yelling "STOP THE BALL!"

Truly, it is amazing to see how many of these NCAA games over the years have come down to failing to do something I must've heard him yell hundreds of times.
