WOW! That is HUGE news! Depending on how long he'll be out, he can really plummet. If he can't work out before the draft, he'll fall like a stone. Wow!
Reports are saying that he's out for 10 weeks.

Gamble?

- OT William Beaty putting on some pounds. 6-6, 310. He's going to be making some money.

- Shonne Greene dropped some weight, and is down to 227.

- Lesean McCoy and Shonn Greene have tiny hands. LOL.

- Kenny Britt, originally billed 6-4, "only" came in at 6-2 7/8 - the same height Fitzgerald was measured at his combine.

I really like Beaty. Do you think he's a viable option if Wells and Moreno are gone?

If not who do you like between Greene and McCoy? Two totally different skill sets as far as I know. Who would be better with Hightower? Isn't Green similar? Can either catch, or do we need to retain Arrington?

Britt being 1 1/8" less isn't much. How do you compare him and Heywood-Bey? I haven't seen either.

How far do you think Oher drops?

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that Michael Crabtree will be sidelined for the next ten weeks following surgery for a "slight" stress fracture in his foot.

He'll have a screw inserted into the foot. Schefter calls it a "recent injury," but Crabtree has nursed a bad foot/ankle since last October. It's no surprise to find out that something's seriously wrong. He will not work out at all before the draft. Crabtree put a lot on film in Mike Leach's spread offense, but he risks falling out of the top 5-7 picks. He measured far shorter than expected Friday and won't be able to answer questions about his 40 time at Pro Day. Feb. 21 - 11:53 am et

I also really like Beatty. He's answered the weight concern and is very mobile. He still needs some time to develop, so he'd be a good one to have backing up Gandy for a year and possibly take over that LT spot afterwards.

As prospects, I like McCoy much more than I like Greene. Greene does not block and have not shown the ability to catch the ball. McCoy is silly explosive and can catch out of the backfield very well. Both are not particularly fast. However, because we have a third down back who dances too much in the backfield as it is, I guess Shonn Greene would be the better fit because he takes the bulk of carries and puts Hightower where he belongs as the COP back. Either would be a huge upgrade over Breadtruck.

Britt is a possession/redzone receiver like Plaxico or Fitz. DHB is the big play guy who is still rough around the edges.

I had him late lotto before the combine, but I think he goes no lower than 21. The Eagles would be dumb to pass him up.

As underwhelming Oher's been in the drills, you can't help but be impressed with his explosion.

Jamon Meredith is making money.

I'm telling you, Jared Cook is going to steal the show. He's one hell of an athlete. He already posted 41-inch vertical.

Travis Beckum not running.

Nooooooo. Cook tweaked his hammy and still ran a 4.45. He's officially making first round money.

Draft Countdown has him rated 2nd after Pettigrew.
Cook is definitely in that conversation. A lot of people have slept on him prior to the Combine. I'm still concerned about his blocking skills, however.

Pettigew is SLOOOOOOW. But I don't really care about speed with him. He'll be fine.

Beatty has the smarts. Do you think he can improve his run blocking enough and has that upside. They are calling him more of a zone-sheme blocker. I wasn't aware if they ran that zone blocking at UConn.
Zone blocking may be his best fit, but he's good enough (and raw enough to develop) to not be exclusive to that. Part of his problem in the running game can be attributed to his weight. If he can maintain the 310 lbs and the strength that comes with it he'll be fine. Grimm will also be a big help to him.

Cornelius Ingram looks like a linebacker. My goodness.
