NFL network is reporting now...

I don't know much about him, but have heard good things. Sounds like a pretty good hire.

Named the 2002 American Football Coaches Association Division I Assistant Coach of the Year, Aiken joined Iowa’s staff in 1999 and helped lead the Hawkeyes to six straight bowl appearances (2001-06). His defensive line finished the 2005 season ranking 29th nationally in rush defense (126 yards per game) and 22nd in scoring defense (20 points per game). Future pros he coached while at Iowa include defensive end and 2006 Pro Bowl selection Aaron Kampman (Green Bay), defensive end Derreck Robinson (San Diego), defensive end Matt Roth (Miami), and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (Atlanta).

Prior to joining the Hawkeyes, Aiken spent the 1998 season coaching linebackers at San Diego State where all three of his linebackers earned all-conference honors. He was at University of Texas coaching defensive tackles in 1997, worked with the defensive line at Vanderbilt from 1995-96 and was at New Mexico coaching linebackers and defensive ends from 1990-94.

Aiken was the head coach at Langston (OK) from 1986-89 where his teams led the nation (NAIA) in defense in two of his four seasons. He was at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1985), Tarkio College (1982-84), and Bethany College (1979-81) after beginning his coaching career at Greensville County (VA) High School in 1979.

This guy has an impressive resume. In coaching for 28 yrs! Nice hire -

i think the diversity of a coaching staff with backgrounds like our staff has is terrific!!! something old something new....i am sure the dynamics are going to be great...we certainly will not have any excuses as a result of poor preparation or time mgt.....most of the guys are coming from excellent programs.

You know, lobo, it's no more difficult to capitalize than it is to use all those exclamation points. . .

Can't deny that. I think I will start posting as I do in my business correspondence if it offensive.

Dude it's not offensive. If that's the way you post then post that way. Don't let these Yahoo's tell you what to do.

It's not offensive. Skkorp (the owner and operator and editor of the message board) would perfer if posters used correct capitalization and punctuation. Since it's his world here, I think we should all play by his rules. Seriously, this is a great place to be for a Cardinal fan, especially now, and if Skkorp wanted to stop spending what I'm certain is no small amount of money for me to burn time here, I don't know what I'd do besides get a ton more work done.

And I can't let that happen. :)
